Hurricane Ian Update - Likely VoIP Hurricane Net Activation Wednesday Morning 9/28/22-Friday Morning 9/30/22
Hello to all... Hurricane Ian will be affecting Western Cuba overnight tonight into Tuesday with hurricane conditions and the Florida Keys with tropical storm force conditions during Tuesday. Later Tuesday Night tropical storm conditions will begin affecting the west coast of Florida and then higher end tropical storm force and hurricane conditions will affect the west coast of Florida Wednesday through Friday Morning. This extended period of these conditions are due to Ian's slowing approach to the West Coast of Florida which will bring an extended period of significant weather with very heavy rainfall, damaging winds and storm surge so this is likely going to be a multi-day activation of our net. We would like to line up as many stations along the west coast of Florida as well as relays into this affected area of the west coast of Florida as possible for our net. This is likely to be the largest activation of the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane season. Advisories on Hurricane Ian can be seen off the main menu of the VoIP Hurricane Net web site or at the National Hurricane Center web site at the following link: We hope to hear from many of you on our net and further details on the activation plan will be published on Tuesday as we get a better refinement on the time range of impacts to the West coast of Florida. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net! 73,Rob-KD1CY. Director of Operations for the VoIP Hurricane Net |
开云体育FYI, West Central Florida Section is at a level 1 activation, Southern Florida is ata level 2 activation (which can change). No activation from Norther Florida yet. Most likely the Florida Keys will evacuate starting tomorrow morning (SOP is? any storm above cat 2 initiates this automatically).? we will be using daytime frequencies of?7242 or 7247 and? the morning?frequencies of 3940 or 3950 for our emergency net.Barry Porter.
