Vashon Loop volume 22 #4 is out
Our April issue is back from the printer! There was a point where we almost lost 12 hours of editing work—technology almost lost us our effort, but then technology saved it instead. Note: this is our April issue. Printed in early April. Think, the first. We have news on ferries, and some exciting science having to do with Vashon’s atmosphere. We have an article on a real, no-fooling attempt to break a world record with Hot Wheel track. If you have any old track around, you can help them. And health matters, a number of island voices, recipes, and (ugh) taxes. How many island businesses make it to age 25? Our hats are off to one this month. The viewable PDF is available on our web site, and the individual articles will be up shortly. Note, we’re trying a new PC-friendly PDF format, do let us know if it causes any problems for you. Thanks for being a reader! And thank you to our paid supporters, who help cover the cost of all that wonderful paper and ink. The Vashon Loop

Vashon Loop volume 22 #3 is available
We printed rather late with our current issue, so our schedule was a little tighter this time. Big shout out to Michael Shook; we had a round of “where did the edits go?” and he was willing to log onto our production system and edit his latest article right in place for us. We cover the wonderful farm of Kim Kambak, who was also incredibly helpful with answers and photos as an article about her farm came together. We often talk about how technology pushes us apart, but in this case it let us get help from our fellow islanders in the blink of an eye. They both have our gratitude. This issue also touches on a new service for seniors, our latest feature of a local business, one of our own editor’s close encounters with a disturbed man, and lots of commentary concerning life, our island, and health. Recipes, native language, and even sea serpents. Enjoy our issue from our website as the full print PDF or individual web articles. Or read it in its physical form--in our 2+ years in the newspaper business, we’ve come to love that smell!

Our usual print date is the 7th, but we had some medical issues among the editorial staff, and we had to push beyond the weekend. WA laws on the way, including (of course) tax increases. Analysis of tariffs. Amazing recipes which can please your family while saving you $$$’s. Puzzles and—as always—the last page with its horoscopes. Enjoy the PDF on our website, or pick up a copy when we get it stocked on-island. Volume 22 #2 Available at the Vashon Loop

Vashon Loop vol. 21 #12 is out on the island
Our final issue of 2024 is printed and showing up all over the island. As I type this, Jane's putting all the articles up on our website as well: The Vashon Loop We've just put a big Christmas bow on our latest issue, and we hope you find many pre-Christmas treasures in this issue. A local writer shares a sampler, we start a series on a part of Vashon history you may never have encountered, and there's the kind of quality writing on health, money, and lifestyle which we hope you'll find entertaining and informative. And horoscopes--of course. It's available at all our usual places, and you can always let us know (Mail to Loop Editor) if we need to restock, or if you have an idea for another place we should make it available. Thanks for being a reader!

Vashon Loop vol. 21 #11 is up!
Our latest issue is coming out tomorrow. Rest assured, we cover local issues but not national issues. We’re happy not to write it, and we’d guess you’re just as happy not to read it (or line your bird cage with it). But we do have all the usual features, some gardening tips, health, a book review, thoughts on finance. And yes, Bernie. Pick it up at your favorite Island place, or crack open the pdf of the issue right now; go to The Vashon Loop and click "Current Issue". Thanks for being a reader!

Vashon Loop vol. 21 #9 is available on island
(Special thanks to editor & owner Marc, who braved a 2.5 hour ferry line to get back here!) Our latest edition is back from the printer. In this issue, we cover a number of topics which are very much on islander minds, including a special section from our 2016 mayor. There’s also health, horoscopes, math puzzles and comics, and we even tip of our hat to the past with an excerpt from an old Loop feature,“Loopy Laffs”—originally published in 2005. For our second anniversary, we're happy to have some color printing, and we're up to 16 pages! Get a copy at your usual place on the island—market, cafe, laundromat, and pretty much anywhere else which doesn’t chase us away. All of our content, as usual, is also live on our Vashon Loop Home Page

Vashon Loop volume 21, #4 is now available
Our latest issue is out--I just stocked all the cafes and markets in town. All the other locations will receive their copies in the next day or so. We have Legends, lots of health articles, a thought-provoking letter to the editor. Our print was slightly delayed when they called me to double check on the date we'd put into the header of the issue; it didn't match today's date. Of course, the issue is dated April 1st. So as you read this issue, be sure to read all of the article before starting your tirade on your favorite social media! We also have our usual back-page astrology, and we hope all of you enjoyed the early access article one of our local astrologers wrote. Our regular back-page feature is courtesy of Eric Francis, who doesn't currently live on Vashon Island. But once an islander, always an islander. Remember that what we print has greatly expanded discussion and information at : Planet Waves
