Mac Marshall

I see in this morning's obituaries that Mr. Mac Marshall died January 4, 2015.? I have a vague recollection of him as a newscaster.? Do other members have more clear remembrances? ??

Mac Marshall was on Channel 9 in the early to mid 1960s.? As I recall, he may have gotten into the advertising business following his stint on KGUN.? Later on, (80s-90s that I knew) he was a driver at SunTran.
I'd see him from time to time around the Flowing Wells area of Tucson..believe he lived on the near-NW side.

Here is the piece from KGUN on Mac, and yes, he was that newscaster you're remembering!? RIP Mr. Marshall!

After Hank Hubbard, I would think Mac Marshall would come in as the face and voice of Tucson's news broadcasts.?

I'm thinking he came to KGUN in the early to mid-60s and was practically the entire news staff - he did it all.

Sad to hear another "landmark" from Tucson's small-town past has left us.? Thanks for the memories, Mac!

I agree about the importance of Mac Marshall but I think the most important ad man was Larry Schnebly.
