Regarding restaurants
Speaking of restaurants in stores, who remembers the restaurant in Penney's at El Con? That was the best food around! We always took our children there. They enjoyed it as much as we did. The

Re: Thrifty cones?
YUM! I went in to the Prince/Mtn. store and I got a 1/2 gallon of Thrifty "Double Chocolate Malted Crunch". The didn't have cones and the prices were today's, not the 10 cent per scoop I remember.

Re: Favorite Make-out Spots
Hi, When you mention Pontotoc road I wonder if you mean the spot that was at north part of Alvernon where it ended circa 1980. We used to just call it "the end of Alvernon". Another spot was near the

Favorite Make-out Spots
I would add Ponotoc Road, before it was paved, and the North end of Campbell. Also, anyone remember the graveyard at the far east end of Speedway?

I remember both stores well. I worked the electronics counter at Jewelcor during Christmas 1979. I remember a guy coming in and buying like ten of the handheld video games. He paid cash and when he

Thrifty cones?
Hi All, I also saw a contemporary sign for Thrifty Ice Cream at a privately-owned convenience store at Prince and Mountain (I think). But I don't know if it is sold by the carton or by the cone. I'm

Yes, I heard someone also scrolled on the inside "Don't tear me down" sad that nobody can respect anything... simple graffiti or religious ritual - either way - if it ain't yours, don't spray paint

I remember the old lunch place at K mart! It was blue for a while in the 70s and then in the early 80s they redid it and enclosed it a bit with nasty orange plastic stuff (this was the first re-do of

Re: Diner inside of stores...
Hello All, I can vaguely remember several department stores that served food. To me, the strangest was the lunch counter in the back of the K-Mart. I can't believe I have any nostalgia for a K-Mart. I

Re: Also... BBQ Ranch
It hasn't been that long since they razed the BBQ Ranch. Maybe a couple of years? What I don't understand is why they always leave the old signs behind after demolition. <misskimberlydawn@...> wrote:

MCG Graffiti
Did anyone see the very recent vandalism of the Tiki head at Magic Carpet? Basically the nose and the eyes are dripping red "blood" and there's a star or a pentagram on the forehead that says "HAIL".
