Kick up your heels at the upcoming Contra Dance! The Sybaritic Stringband will enliven your feet with a spirited blend of Irish, Scottish, Quebecois and old-time tunes. Fiddler Sheila Allan joins Leith Davis (piano, fiddle & double bass), Claire McCague (recorders & saxophone), Rob McGregor (mandolins), and Scott Alpen (bodhran and trumpet). Prepare to dance the night away to this energetic mixture of styles and sounds!
Seattle's dynamic young caller, Koren Wake shoots the arrow, following her over the top calling at Chehalis Contra Dance Camp! Koren rose onto the Pacific Northwest contra caller circuit in 2022, bringing a perspective borne from decades of dancing, loving, and analyzing contra. Combining clear and accessible teaching with exquisitely tasteful dance selection, she cultivates an exciting evening that brings dancers of all skill levels together on the floor.
Dances taught on the spot, newcomers always welcome, no partner needed.
Soft-soled shoes, light clothing, and water bottles recommended. Please come fragrance-free.
