Re: State/city Homeless "solutions" getting worse
Once again, folks, reporting this stuff doesn't even require a phone call. ?Just use the My311 app from your phone. It only takes a few clicks and you're done!

Re: State/city Homeless "solutions" getting worse
The encampment of Fulton and Riverside has gotten violent. I read a report of a gun being brandishing.? I, as my other neighbors have called weekly to complain about it to no avail. The men there are aggressive, filthy and block across to walk on the sidewalks. The buckets of feces are emptied out in thr bushes behind? the stoes there. It is getting out of hand. Obviously Karen Bass is uninterested.? What can we do to make them leave? Play Tiny Tim on repeat at high volume? Skunk perfume??

For those of you who prefer NOT to call, use the My311 app on your phone.? A few clicks and you're done.? You can file a complaint anonymously, if you choose.

Re: New Bum Magnolia & Coldwater
Calling tomorrow! We all have to stay on top of this? i honked my horn everytime I drove underpass..risky but I was so pissed off. My dryckeane , Valley cleaners had them trying to get in through backdoor.? They also tore up fence to enter the area by the 101. Sometimes I wish I had more stinkbombs from the magic shops I bought when I was a kid!

As an LAPD Volunteer and the C-PAB Co-Chair, I know what is going on.
Let me give you some insight. I was at the Palisades Fire¡¯s Command Post on Monday.
There are hundreds of officers, from SLO¡¯s, Patrol and Detectives from ALL divisions who have been assigned to
work this situation.
?
Last week when we came back from a tour of the Valley Communications Center, we were in the station at
8:30PM.
ALL of our SLO¡¯s had just come back from working the Palisades Fire and were finally at the end of their watch which started at
5AM. I have never seen them look so tired.
So what that Valley Village wasn¡¯t affected by the fire? That is not the point. The assignments come from the DOC, the Department Operations Center, which assigns officers to major events.
Our division is extremely short handed. They can¡¯t even meet the absolute MINIMUM amount of patrol officers to be out to respond to calls. I can¡¯t say how short we are but let me tell you if you knew how many officers are out there to respond to
CRIMINAL activity, you would be shocked.
NHWD is the busiest division in the Valley and number 3 in the whole city for calls for service. They average from 800-1000 calls for service PER WEEK. Assaults, Domestic Violence, Burglaries in progress, Kidnapping, Shootings, etc. Real life-threatening events
that are priority. All they can do is tell people to move which takes time and is a NON-EMERGENCY. NO LIVES ARE BEING THREATENED AND NO CRIME BEING COMMITTED.
As for the Grants Pass law, our city officials are to blame as the Mayor and City Council will not allow this. They seem to like being the Homeless Capital of the Country. What they don¡¯t want to admit that MOST of the homeless refuse ¡°housing¡±. They prefer
living on the streets, getting all the free stuff, being able to do what they want to do and there are no consequences. It is NOT LAPD¡¯s fault so stop blaming them.
?
NHWD¡¯S BOUNDARY IS EAST SIDE OF COLDWATER CANYON, THE SOUTH SIDE OF SATICOY, THE BURBANK BORDER AND NORTH SIDE OF MULHOLLAND DRIVE. So anything that happens on the west side
of Coldwater Canyon is in Van Nuys Division.
So, sorry Rob you think LAPD¡¯s response is stupid.
?
Wow. I have to really devour this response. I am thinking I gotta get out of California?
?
What a disappointing response from LAPD, who?clearly has the wrong take on the situation.? Ever since SCOTUS ruled the Grant Pass law was Constitutional, the city's charter has
been a legal tool to remove the bums, no matter how many inches they leave clear.? They're simply not allowed to camp out on the streets.
Anyway, here's the response we got, which is stupid. Nobody in Valley Village or other neighborhoods was threatened by fire.
"My apologies, we have been assigned to the fires for the last week. North Hollywood division has been running a skeleton crew. We are extremely low on resources as most of the department.
A couple things though, first off that area is actually Van Nuys division. I don't know if their senior lead officers are available.
Because should be going to Van Nuys division to respond out for criminal activity. Based on that picture, there is not anything for me to enforce here. As long as they leave 36 inches
there is not enforceable violations. All of these homeless issues should be handled by LAHSA. You can go on their website and make a request for them to response.
My experience has been that they do not follow up with what the outcome is. I have also talk to your new council members office regarding this specific issue. And what we can do moving
forward to make sure sanitation is responding out to Mark and clean up this mess.
?
Unfortunately police have been removed for most of this equation other than the standby and make sure there is not a crime being committed when they clean up this mess. I would really
put some pressure on the mayors office and your council office to change some of our policies. I would be as enraged as you if this was in my
neighborhood. I will go out there and make contact with those individuals and see if I can offer some outreach when I get a chance. I can't tell you we are going to be on tactical alert
for at least another couple weeks and we are going to be mostly redeployed down to the Palisades for now.
Again, sorry for my late response, I just have not been able to get to my phone or my emalls"

Many of us have also been calling Field Officer Denise/Diane Gonzales 818-755-7676. I stopped by early this morning and started taking it apart.......there is at least one man and one woman in there. They are very clever.......they tied everything together so it makes it much harder to take apart piece by piece, which was my intention.
Not sure if any of you have noticed, but there is a new bum who's built a condominium on the sidewalk close to the Walgreen's. It's a very large tent and the thing that disturbs me is that he's got a hibachi for cooking food. This is not something I enjoy seeing in general, but certainly not during fire season.?
I have contacted officer Robert Benavidez with the following message and I suggest you do the same:

Good afternoon Officer.
We met at a neighborhood of watch meeting a few years ago at the corner of Addison and Bellaire in ValleyVillage. Calling to let you know that we have another vagrant set up right around Coldwater Canyon and Magnolia who has a fire going for cooking with a little hibachi grill, etc. This being fire season with winds I sure don't feel comfortable having an open fire like that. Maybe you and your team can take a look. Thank you.
