Changes to the site this week:

May 15, 2023:

• NEW: Added modal bottom sheets on phones for dropdown menus in the /members, /topics and /messages pages.
• NEW: On the pending message page, reordered the buttons on the Reject dialog and disabled the Reject With Notice button unless there's a message in the textarea.

May 17, 2023:

• CHANGE: Upgraded our Font Awesome package to the latest version
• BUGFIX: Re-wrote the chat system, including numerous fixes and improvements

May 19, 2023:

• NEW: Confirmation dialog when uploading photos to chats, and improved the speed of photo uploads to chats
• BUGFIX: Misc fixes to new chat based on feedback
• NEW: JSON exports of databases now include image data and imports now import images
• BUGFIX: For some groups, we incorrectly listed their archives as private on the group home page.

May 10, 2023:

• BUGFIX: On the /messages and /topics page, fixed bug where on some smaller screen dimensions, the nav buttons and pagination would wrap.
• CHANGE: Changed the first entry of the breadcrumbs to be the group name instead of the group email address, to be more consistent with the rest of the site.

May 11, 2023:

• BUGFIX: After Save & Approve a pending message, the number of pending messages displayed on the /pending page would be incorrect.

April 25, 2023:

• CHANGE: Swapped order of Date and Subject columns in the /pendingmsg Sender's Most Recently Approved Posts table.

April 26, 2023:

• NEW: Consolidated calendar view in parent groups.
• NEW: Calendars in subgroups have two new permission options, Parent group can view, members can view and edit and Parent group and members can view, moderators can edit.

May 2, 2023:

• CHANGE: Revamped pending message page, separating, grouping, and moving the buttons by function. Also improved pagination.
• BUGFIX: Reporting a profile that has a username would sometimes lead to a blank report being emailed.

Changes to the site this week:

• INTERNAL: A lot of prep work for upgrading the site to Bootstrap 5.

April 20, 2023:

• APP BUGFIX: Clicking on a calendar link would not do anything.
• BUGFIX: In cases where a topic has been split or the subject renamed, a reply to a message with the old subject would have the old subject logged in the Activity log.
• APP BUGFIX: Links with target="_blank" would cause the app to display them in the browser instead of the app. Implemented a partial fix, with a complete one coming next week.

April 21, 2023:

• CHANGE: On mobile, removed the Approve & Unmoderate Sender option on the pending message page. It was easy to click on it by mistake.
• NEW: When viewing a pending message, we now display links to the 5 most recent approved messages by that sender.
• APP BUGFIX: Adding an event did not work.

• APP: Finished up work on the new version of the app, including fixing several issues with file and photo uploads and downloads.

April 12, 2023:

• BUGFIX: Fixed labels in the /addtable page so they are readable by screen readers.
• NEW: When switching languages on the website, display a page with information on how people can help improve the translations.

April 14, 2023:

• BUGFIX: The move tree in the Files section now opens with the top level expanded.

Changes to the site this week:

April 7, 2023:

• APP: Uploaded a new version of the app for testing. The new version does not have any new features, but instead is a full update of the internal code. This is needed before I can start updating the website and fixing various app bugs.
• I18N: Updated all the language files with the latest strings, including the last notifications that were converted. Uploaded the files to Github.

March 27, 2023:

• BUGFIX: Wiki Table of Content links would not work if the header had periods in it.

March 29, 2023:

• INTERNAL: Upgrading to the latest Go compiler.

March 31, 2023:

• CHANGE: The way we calculated when to expire topics with hashtags set for monthly expiration was incorrect. We want to expire based on the day of the month. For months that are longer than the previous month this was being done incorrectly for the day(s) that didn't exist in the previous month. For example, on March 29th, we were expiring topics that were sent on March 1st, because February 29th doesn't exist.

Changes to the site this week:

March 20, 2023:

• BUGFIX: The New dropdown was erroneously displayed in the Files section when viewing a folder set to allow members to upload even when the Files section was set to not permit members to upload.
• BUGFIX: Reposted messages were not having their Date headers reset to the current date/time, which was leading to some deliverability issues where Yahoo would complain about RFC violations if the Date header was too old (for some value of too old).
• CHANGE: When editing an existing message, and sending it to the group, we rename the existing Date header field to X-Old-Date and add a new Date header with the current date, to avoid issues with Yahoo claiming RFC violations.
• CHANGE: No longer generate confirmed their account activity log entries for banned members.
• CHANGE: No longer send account changed notifications for banned members when they change their email addresses.
• CHANGE: changed email address activity log entries for banned members will now start with Banned member.

March 24, 2023:

• BUGFIX: We were improperly escaping subject lines in summary emails.

Changes to the site this week:

Internationalization Project:

• Completed converting the remaining notifications so that they can be localized. This marks the completion of the bulk of this project. Some cleanup remains, but at this point the focus will be on increasing the quality of the translations as I can start to focus on other issues.

March 14, 2023:

• BUGFIX: If you had two-factor authentication enabled and needed to reconfirm your account, it would not work.

Changes to the site this week:

Internationalization Project:

• Converted all activity log entries so that they can be localized.
• You can now select your language, by going to /account?page=prefs
• Groups can now set their default language by going to their Default Sub Settings page.
• If you are not logged in, there is a new drop down in the header to select your language.
• I've added German as a language, with an initial machine translation, and I've pushed this and all updates to the Github repository.
• Many, but not all, of the email and push notifications have been translated. I hope to finish those next week, as they're the last part of the system needing to be translated.

February 21, 2023:

• NEW: Added Dutch Outlook message headers to the algorithm which finds replies in messages.

February 22, 2023:

• INTERNAL: Set up 6 additional email servers. Will be gradually phasing them in over the next couple of weeks.

February 23, 2023:

• NEW: Initial work to support Club Express SSO. Not yet active.
• CHANGE: Removed the option to create a Zoom meeting when creating a new event. Zoom disabled our app over (not valid) security concerns, and addressing those issues will require migrating the website to Bootstrap 5, which is on the roadmap, but won't happen until the Internationalization project is complete.

Internationalization Project:

• Converted 58 web page templates so that they can be translated into other languages, completing the initial web site conversion.
• Did an initial machine translation of the site into 4 languages: French, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian, which you can test. Also set up a public Github repository for the translation files.
• Put together a proposal for new User and Group language settings.

• BUGFIX: Links in file search result pages did not work. Also, deleting files from the files search result page did not work.

• BUGFIX: We were not logging email-based subscription changes.
• BUGFIX: We weren't recognizing some Outlook reply headers, causing us to not collapse some replies.
• CHANGE: We no longer fake the 'Taken' date for photos - this only applies to photos uploaded since this change.

• CHANGE: Include one-click unsubscribe links in footers in groups that are set to reply to moderators or followers only, and for all messages sent by moderators. Previously we would only include those links in groups set to reply to group.

• BUGFIX: If you entered an incorrect password in the login screen, you would get an error, but the Forgot Password link was missing.

January 5, 2023:

• BUGFIX: Editing a file from the Files search result page resulted in a The folder must have a name. error banner.
• CHANGE: New groups dedicated to sharing tags, tubes, PaintShopPro files, GIFs, Incredimail or other stationery or graphics will no longer be permitted.

January 4, 2023:

• BUGFIX: With the /getactivitylog API endpoint, some values of action were not parsed correctly.
• NEW: Added a Confirmed account activity log entry.

• BUGFIX: For owner defined group footers, when generating the HTML version of them, including newlines with the
  tags to hopefully prevent too-long line issues with 8-bit encoded messages.

Changes to the site this week:

December 16, 2022:

• INTERNAL: Pushed to production the first part of a re-write of how we handle and store email delivery history. When complete, the new system will store multiple success delivery notices as well as make accessing all email delivery history easier for typical use cases.
• NEW: Improved the Email Delivery History pages, including additional subject lines.
• BUGFIX: When viewing the Email Delivery History pages, sometimes the most recent unsuccessful attempt was not displayed.

December 15, 2022:

• INTERNAL: Disabled the use of (completely unnecessary) savepoints on our read-only database replicas. This will hopefully address an intermittent database query stall issue I've been seeing since the very beginning of the site. Fingers crossed.

December 13, 2022:

• INTERNAL: Multiple improvements to the development environment.

As we end the year, I'd like to once again thank everybody who uses 开云体育. It is tremendously gratifying to work on a service that is used by so many and that hopefully is a positive force in the world.
