Dear UCINet Colleagues, When I copy and paste attribute data from Excel into DL-Matrix, the alphanumeric Names and Types show up initially.? But when I save that as a Ucinet file, the names and types disappear.? How can I import the alphanumeric data lists along with the numerical attribute data into Ucinet? Thanks Jeff ? Unfortunately, you can’t. Attribute values have to be numeric.

Thanks.? I have a vague and probably erroneous memory of being able to import text data in a much earlier version of UCINet. Was that ever a possibility?

Professor Broadbent,? My experience is you can open (or copy and paste ) excel attribute file in ucinet, then save it as ucinet file without goting through the transformation in dl editor.?
Hope this help,?

I think the attribute editor in Netdraw allowed alphanumeric values and recognized them as different categories.?
