We are excited to share that on Saturday,?December 2nd, the National Weather Service in Shreveport will host?SKYWARN Recognition?Day?virtually.? Our amateur radio operators are welcomed to set-up in our parking lot outside once again, after restrictions prevented this in previous years. We will host our SKYWARN Spotters and our amateur radio operators virtually over GoogleMeet from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday.? We invite all of our?SKYWARN Spotters to attend.? That morning, we will have a presentation reviewing the high impact weather events for our area in 2023 and we will also?recognize?the 2023 Skywarn?Spotter of the Year?(2022 Spotter of the Year- Bryan Loper).? Please pass this along to any?SKYWARN Spotters and HAMs within your network.??

If you plan to attend, you must first register at:?? by?Thursday, November 30th.??The GoogleMeet information will be shared with registrants on December 1st.??

Regardless,?whether or not you plan on attending, please make sure you check-in at the?.? This is a new?page created by the National Weather Service to help us track the location of our?SKYWARN Spotters across the country.? You can check-in as early as today, and through December 2nd.

Amateur radio operators that want to set up and operate from the office parking lot, may do so from 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 1st until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2nd.? There will be an office?tour after our virtual?presentation, roughly between 10:30 - 11:00 a.m Saturday morning. However, outside of that, visitation into our building will be limited to use of our restrooms.?If you plan to set up in our parking lot, please make sure you include that in the notes of the registration form.??
