of job it is to get to the bottom of the prob. I can move the lever, and it feels like it is moving something, however, there is no difference, simply the TB type air coming out of the vents. -=dr=- ----- Original Message -----

Hi George,
The ringing noise has me puzzled but I will take a shot at it anyway, Piston slap comes from the cylinders having too much clearance and the piston is rocking back and forth in the cylinder until it warms up and they expand and get tighter, it makes a knocking sound, the timing chain will make a clattering noise when cold, carbon buildup won't cause piston slap but could cause detonation or pinging but not at start up. Without hearing it my guess would be more on the lines of a heat shield or exhaust shroud vibrating until it warms up and expands. As far as the blower problem the only 2 things that come to mind are either the inside/outside air knob on the heater control is set to inside or recirculate or the diverter cable from the heater control to the air flap has came loose under the dash and not redirecting the air to the vents. Good luck |
thanks - the old vacuum cleaner tube test tells me its coming from the internal upper end around the pistons - not timing chain. Anyway, does not seem to hurt performance etc.
I'll try the look at the linkage on the heater - inside/outside air makes little differance. Actually there is a little flow, kind of like a terminal TB case so I'm tearing into the blower to look for more debris after the ice is gone here in Arkansas. If you hear anymore on available axle kits let me know George From: "Nolan" <quadlight@...>_________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at |
