New Tires
Hi Fellow Toyota Camper Owners,
I am shopping for new tires. ?In the past, manufacturers have come and gone making the size and specs needed for our rigs.
I recently came across the Haida and Waterfall brands, carried at Walmart, for very attractive prices, in the mid to high $60s per tire. ?I need 2 sets, and my current tires are 185R14C.
Have any of you had any experience with these brands and tires specifically for your Toyota Campers?
Thank you for any input.

A quick Google search told me Haida tires are made in China and Waterfall in Turkey. I had a set of Chinese tires wear out on me in less than 1000 miles ten years ago. Chinese tire quality may be better now, I don’t know. Hankook Vantra 185R14C tires are $116 each now on Amazon;; they were the lowest priced “name brand” tires I could find when I put them on my Dolphin a year ago. I like them fine, very little wear after 3000 miles. I would be wary of generic brands selling for half that price. |

I will only buy a USA made tire.? I use nothing but Toyo tires.

We're talking Toyota campers here and Toyo doesn't make any tires in the right size. Besides most Toyo tires are made overseas
?Toyo's manufacturing facilities can be found in Germany, Hungary, Thailand, Taiwan and China
?
Haida makes great tires but for tires tested and run by many I would go for Thunderer or Hankook.?

I had Hankook on mine for 8 years and they were great. I just replaced them(because they were 8 years old) with Nexan. I have about 7,000 miles on them & they seem fine also. I didnt go with Hankook, because I had a hard time finding them locally. My buddy that owns a local tire shop recommended the Nexans. so far, no regrets.
