Trans cooler recommendations

The limiting factor is how much space there is in front of the
engine: for the radiator and for the air conditioning condenser (if
you have one) and then for any add-on trans cooler. If you have
the standard radiator and an air conditioner then there is just a
little space left for a trans cooler in front. The one I got is
about 3/4" thick and only about 12" x 8" rectangular. I didn't want
anything larger that might block air flow to the A/C because I want
as much A/C capacity as I can get. Therefore I mounted the
trans cooler as far forward in front of the condensor as I could
before hitting the grill.

I don't see any need for you to get more than just the trans
cooler by itself if your radiator is not running hot. Over time
radiators can get clogged and start to run hotter, and then you
can have it serviced and rodded out if necessary -- less drastic
than a new one or adding on.

Hi Tika ~~
I saw that they have combination engine oil and transmission oil
coolers, page 92 in my catalog.

Would there be any advantage of getting the combination or
should I
just concentrate on the transmission oil cooler? The engine
has
never run hot, always under the middle mark. I can feel the
heat
from the transmission in the cab, between the two seats. But I
have
only had the rig since last December and have not had a
chance to
take it out in our really hot weather.

Any input along these lines is appreciated.

after I get the work done. I will talk with the people at the
automotive place you took your rig and hopefully get an appointment
in the next couple of weeks or so.
