this particular weber-32 36 dgv is arb approved.? mine was smogged with it.? first check with your smog station about legality

Re: Carburetor for 84 Dolphin

If the vehicle is in a emission testing area installing a Weber would not be a good plan since it would fail inspection, otherwise a Weber will improve power and throttle response.

Rebuilt carburetors are available from Oreilly.

also, if there was any fuel in it when stored it will have turned to varnish which will need to be removed

Re: Carburetor for 84 Dolphin

the gaskets and flexible parts shrink over time without fuel exposure.? i would check with napa auto parts for a kit

Re: Carburetor for 84 Dolphin

Hi there. Thanks for your response. Can you say more about why it will need a kit and where to find one? Thanks!

Re: Carburetor for 84 Dolphin

I have one off a 1985 22r. Was rebuilt but then the truck died so it’s been on the shelf for five or six years. I have no use for it. Don’t know what it’s worth. Maybe ask an old mechanic if they think it’s usable or not. Let me know.

Hello all,
my ‘84 Dolphin carburetor, (on a 22r engine)is pretty shot. Do you have recommendations about the best place to source one, rebuilt or whatever? For as little money as possible of course. It just has 135k on it so it is worth it.?
Thank you!

Re: Toyota 24 re ECU compatability - YotaTech Forums

The Ignition modules do go bad. Ask me how I know. Those from a junkyard where they pull it will be OH SO expensive. If you find one in a you pull it yard chances are you will get it cheap because ignition modules all have a set price.

Re: Toyota 24 re ECU compatability - YotaTech Forums

Thanks Pete. Is the coil igniter somewhat difficult to come by, if one were to need one? Or more a convenience to have, as they go out occasionally??

Re: Velvac mirrors

Thanks Linda and Pete. Mine were definitely glued in, but with a little more force and a plastic pry tool I was able to get them out.

Re: Toyota 24 re ECU compatability - YotaTech Forums

Probably a good idea to have a spare ECU to try in an emergency. I also heard a long time ago that having a 22 RE coil igniter spare is a good idea so I just pulled one from a junkyard and keep it in the the 85 dolphin.

Re: Velvac mirrors

I have used gentle heat Like a heat gun or an hair dryer to loosen any adhesive and possibly prying with a plastic pry tool. Lacquer thinner Or acetone or nail polish remover might make it budge. On my 1985 dolphin the mirrors came right out once I've removed the rubber ring. Best of luck

Re: Velvac mirrors

Found some old mirrors to experiment on. When I remove the gasket the glass comes right out. No evidence of any glue ever being there?

Thanks Buzz.
?
Short term (emergency) use, is all I had planned for it. I just dug it out and double checked. The Toyota label cannot be read, so I won't be able to be sure what it is.?

Re: Toyota 24 re ECU compatability - YotaTech Forums

Re: Wrong ECU
?
If the "spare" ECU is similar enough that the connectors plug right in and you found it runs the engine, you are unlikely to do
any serious damage if you use it for a short time. The most likely scenarios is the engine will either run too lean, which will
give you terrible driveability and limited power, or it will run too rich which will give you horrid fuel economy and (over time)
damage your catalytic converter.
?
Please be aware swapping the ECU with one that isn't correct for the vehicle is technically a violation of federal law. But if
you don't live in an area where there is emissions testing, no one is going to give you grief about it.
?
I would recommend against using the spare ECU over the long term unless you verify it's the correct one for your engine.
While running with incorrect engine parameters is unlikely to cause problems in the short term, over time running with
incorrect fueling/timing/etc. could cause problems, especially when driving under heavy load.
?
Good luck,

Re: furnace motor

Here's a video of someone repairing the same furnace. He can't find a new motor either, but he manages to get it working again.

There's also the possibility that another motor will fit. You need to remove yours and make careful measurements to find a match.
Lots of other Suburban motors. One of them might fit
