My local dump will let me weigh my rig for free. Just drive in and drive out and they give you the weight.?

Weight of our campers for being towed ?

For the purpose of telling tow trucks or trailer owners about the possibility of? towing a Toyota RV camper....
I have a 1985 New Horizon Camper with 22RE engine and the factory swap out rear dualie axles.?
What is the likely empty ( or towable) weight? of my camper ?? ? Anyone ever had theirs weighed ?
I have my worries about the extension of the camper body behind the rear axle and being about to be winched up onto a tow truck.? ?I think the rear bumper-chassis would drag the ground and a lower trailer might work better.

Re: BATTERY (HOUSE)

Brain fade proofing things. Splice in a 5 amp or so fuse in the jumper. That way IF you FORGET to remove the jumper come springtime, it will blow the fuse when you start the engine the first time. This will restore the isolator to its correct operation mode, so you won't end up with a dead starter battery on your first trip.
FWIW In the last 8 years of doing this I have manage to "forget" 2x and the fuse protected me.

Re: Happy Halloween Everybody!

Not unless your RV has been modified / upgraded. ?You can charge both batteries at the same time if you put a clip-lead connecting the two outside posts of the isolator under the hood. Then the current flows to both. ?See the green clip-lead in this photo.

BATTERY (HOUSE)

When I have a trickle charger on the truck battery... is the house battery also being charged?

Re: 1989 Toyota Dolphin door

These both are available at RV supply stores. Also on Amazon. ?

Re: Hot water tank bypass for winterizing

Hot water heater bypass kits are relatively inexpensive - in the $20-$30 range. They are designed to fit the standard water heaters that most Toyota RVs have. So save yourself a bit of frustration and buy a kit, like the Camco version, and it should install very easily.

1989 Toyota Dolphin door

I am in search of the two vertical insert trim pieces and the top drip edge.
Just wondering if there are other options people have explored if they are not?
available.

Best to all!

Hot water tank bypass for winterizing

Hi guys,
I just to pick your brains. Winterizing my 92 Warrior, I disconnect both lines to the hot water tank and join them together with a brass fitting. Not hard, but not the easiest thing to do. What does everyone else do? I know they sell bypass kits with valves, but I'm not sure how "standard" the plumbing is in these older machines. I could build my own bypass from the hardware store. I just wonder what everybody else does. I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
Thanks!

Re: [minitruckcampers] Pics of Timbrens installed?

Disregard, I had somehow saved the wrong installation instructions, they were for the same model number?but not for the toyota 1 ton chassis, I found the correct ones here:?

Hi All, I know at least a couple of you have Timbrens installed, can you please reply with a pic? I had a spring shop redo my springs a few years ago and they threw away the lower brackets for the?timbrens saying I wouldn't need them anymore?and I miss them. The company sent me the lower brackets again but I can't remember how they're supposed to mount and the instructions aren't helping. Here's a pic of the rubber part still mounted, I need to figure out how/where to mount the lower plate. Thanks!

Re: Low price Sunrader in the SF Bay Area - Needs some TLC

Definitely pre 1986, it's got the earlier 22R carbureted engine and rocker cover and the yellow orange thin body stripe, and the five speed manual tranny. Besides TLC love it needs dedication...

Re: Low price Sunrader in the SF Bay Area - Needs some TLC

Well it's at least an 86 or older. No reverse duals in the front' If it is older you need to check the rear wheels for full floating hubs. Still a deal and it's so hard to find a manual.

Spotted this on Craigslist while shopping for my "What if a garbage truck wipes out my car and I need one right away?" car.

Thank you everyone for your comments, so appreciate all of them, ... have do further looking. Have a great week, Bruce

Re: 88 Toyota RV - been sitting for 10 years?

I have overhauled and replaced several motors the first thing I would do in this situation is remove all the spark plugs squirt some oil into each spark plug hole and turn it over by hand with a wrench or socket on the crankshaft bolt. After a few cranks by hand it should turn freely or if it is seized up it won't turn at all then you got bigger problems.
