Water does not fall

I got a TinySA on 26Dec. It works well except "Waterfall" function.
The area for waterfall is almost white. I tried SW 11-32,-59,-72,
result is same. The PCB is V3.0.1, I guess it is not clone but latest version.
Is there any setting for Waterfall?? KEN JR1WZI

Very weird, I checked again the v1.1-72 FW and water does fall.....
There is no setting for the waterfall and I have absolutely no clue what could cause this. Is the big waterfall also white?

Hi Erik The big waterfall is also white.?
Only one line at the top of the area looks working as waterfall.?
KEN
?

If you give me some time I can make a FW variant that uses a bit different way to create the waterfall that hopefully will work

Thanks for your support. The function of tinySA is enough for me even without waterfall. So please make priority for other improvements.

Forgive me for taking your time but if I might ask, what is the "big waterfall"? I thought that that there was just one waterfall?

Thanks,
Roy

After enabling the waterfall a waterfall taking about 30% of the screen appears.
Tapping again switches to the big waterfall taking about 60% of the screen.
Tapping a third time disables the waterfall.

Oh thank you so much for the information! I missed that somewhere about the various options with the waterfall. Thank you so much for all the work you have put into this project!

Screenshots work? This can related to read error from LCD, TintSA CPU not have enouth memory for store all waterfall data, it just copy line down. Need check SPI SDI line from display to CPU

Can both of you that have the failing waterfall try to do a screengrab using tinySA-App.exe?
If the screengrab works there is at least one possible problem eliminated.

I tried to get screen capture using tinySA-App "Camera" button. But nothing appeared on Screen Capture window.
"Save image (Save a snap shot image)" is working.

If the captured screen is black and your waterfall is black the serial data input from the display is stuck at zero.
Let me think if there is a way to change the FW to be less critical.
Unless there is a short on the PCB as that can not be solved by a FW update

The waterfall is white on LCD and capture screen maybe white also (at least not Black).?
Can I get the schematic??

Maybe you can probe the SPI_MISO (SDI). Left bottom of the MCU and the lines to the LCD.
The bottom half of below picture is below the battery

I did probe the SPI_MISO,SPI_MOSI. I found both signals are same ! Finally I found SPI_MISO and SPI_MOSI are short (almost 0 ohm).
My visual check the MCU soldering is OK. And I tried re-soldering around the pin with the solder wick. But still NG.
I will continue to investigate..(I have to remove LCD?..)? I may give up to use waterfall and capture screen..

Very careful slowly lifting? the LCD with a plastic insert at the side with the SMA connectors will release the sticky tape and allow the LCD to come loose

I peeled off the LCD Module and found a solder bridge on flexible board. I touched up and the problem is resolved. The waterfall and capture screen are working well. Hi Erik appreciates your support. Some test item must be added for production line...

It seems that I need to increase the test items for LCD reading.

My waterfall doesn't work either.? I get a white field and only one line of the waterfall.? So after reading thru this thread I am confused as to how this problem will be resolved.? Is this a FW or HW problem?? Do I need to return my device to the vendor as defective?? Or do I need to take it apart and attempt a repair?? Or will a FW solution correct the problem and I just need to wait?

This was a Christmas gift so a I need to start a vendor return soon, if needed.
