PC SW for tinySA

erik, I connected the tinySA with PC software and the PC software is not displaying the spectrum properly and the spectrum on the tinySA LCD is not displaying properly anymore.

Sorry guys, must have been a bit confused yesterday.
Please use a new executable found here
?
and for those that already have the v0.2 HW, do update the FW of the tinySA with the file found in the the same location (either ch.bin of ch.elf)

Erik, I updated the new firmware and PC software, but it still doesn't work.

Can you check if the settings page looks like this

and if not, change to these values?
In the picture you posted it shows "Level/dB" as 7.8 but that should be 2
And attenuation should be 0
If it still does not work, can you enable the log and post the log?

erik, still not working, here's a picture of the 10MHz signal emitted by the test nanoVNA-H v3.4.

With the wrong previous exe some wrong settings got into the configuration file that is automatically loaded.
Can you try? to load this configuration file?
The output from the log should be like like this where the important difference is "v 0 O 433800000" (in bold)

erik, load the configuration file you provided and it work fine.

sorry to disturb as I have a question that's perhaps a little naive...
does the software display in real time what the SA is doing? or it just captures static images?

Claudio

Both

For good measurement try to keep strongest signal minus attenuation below -20dB if possible

Erik,
I charged and calibrated the TinaySA that I received last week.? All is working as per the video you provided for use with the built-in display.? My issue is with the PC software.? I cannot get the TinySA to communicate with my Windows10 PC.? When I go to the connect menu selection sometimes I get the Comport and Mockup, other times only the Mockup selection.? When I do get the Comport selection it will open the software, but I do not get a scan displayed when I press the run or single button.

In order to get the Comport back when it disappears, I need to go restart the PC for windows to find the TinySA.

Any suggestions?? I tried the WiKi, however could not find any details on the USB driver or comport settings.

Evan,
? ?See message #339,?/g/tinysa/message/339?p=,,,20,0,0,0::Created,,level%2Fdb,20,2,0,75785886?.?

? ?Per Erik, 'Set level/dB in the settings screen to 32 as the internal data format has changed.'??

? ?Also under the same settings tab, If Zero level(dB) is not -128 you will need to change it or the TinySA software marker value will not match the tinySA device marker value.

? ?Maybe Erik can help you with the comport issue.? I haven't run across that one on my computer.

A new tinySA.exe is available that automatically sets these to the right value.

If you loose connection, unplugging the tinySA USB and plugging back and?exit and restart tinySA.exe should be sufficient, I never had to reboot my PC

Erik,
I now cannot get the TinySA to show up on any of the 4 Windows10 computers that I have tried.? ?As I stated in my first email, it did respond for a short time after I rebooted my computer.? Now it will not respond at all.

Is there a hard reset that I can try to see if that will allow the USB connection?

HW version: V0.3

I added some connection debug info to the wiki

Scroll down till the part related to the windows device manager and follow the instructions.

I did check on the Device Manager for the port.? I did not see the TinySA or a port that could be the TinySA (an unknown port).? I did this for 5 different computers.

Evan

I assume you did try a different USB cable and the tinySA was switched on when testing the connection?
Is the red led next to the USB connector blinking and the battery charging?

Hi Evan

Did you also test using another USB cable ?
Kind regards

I did not.? Luckily I have one from my NanoVNA.? That cable works.

Thank you for your help.
