Far below expectations.
Yes it does work here with firmware 1.417. Attached is a screen shot of the screen screen shot. However it does take some time to populate and you may need a manual refresh as someone else suggested.
It seems to me that this is not the best way to do this. Generating a waterfall takes a lot of resources and it would not surprise me if it does not work well with the screen shot. The best way to do it wold be directly in the PC software but that option is not very common. I suspect that the people who create the PC softwares are more interested in detailed measurements and a waterfall is mostly eye candy in that context. 73 -Jim NU0C On Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:03:44 -0700 "Pimpersivius via groups.io" <Digiswiss@...> wrote: How about the waterfall? In another post, the developer said that the waterfall works with the new firmware. Well, I wanted to try it out straight away. /g/tinysa/topic/new_fw_release_waterfall_and/106962452 ? Especially when the user in this post said that the STM32 CubeProgrammer now works perfectly with the current new version. /g/tinysa/topic/stm32cubeprogrammer_v2_17/107036107 ? Now I tried to connect the TinySA Ultra to the computer via USB, as I did with the first firmware update. Unfortunately, that didn't work. No matter which cable or port I used, the TinySA Ultra was not recognized by the software. Even Windows was unable to restore the previous driver. So there is now a new firmware version with which the waterfall supposedly works, but you can't install it. The bottom line is that this confirms the arguments I put forward at the beginning of my post. |
? As another stated so succinctly, "We can't do (a)n(y)thing?for the (lack) of skill...." I update the firmware every release and have since the TinySA Ultra was released with no issues. It feels like you want us to spoon feed you; the bottom line is that skills matter. Try . This is the basic problem solving 101 approach. Identify things that block you reaching your goal. Then for each of those things learn how to unblock your quest or why you cannot achieve what you want. In this case you need information. So craft a useful set of search terms. And learn, pulling what you need from the stuff you don't need. Just another suggestion, extra narrow extra small font is nearly impossible to read, even for these young eyes on this huge 38" display. I update with each of Erik's commits to his repo simply using the three magic spells: git pull make make flash Every now and then I try a few SW hacks of my own, which can also break the system, no problem, revert and download a new version. The tinySA (as well as the NanoVNA) are as rock-solid and "unbrickable" as few other ?C gadgets, nice hacker toys. Just my 2 ? |
I have upgraded firmware in my Ultra no fewer than 61 times since purchase with no issues. I do not know the infant mortality rate of the Ultra but it seems quite low. Every product ever manufactured can have out of box failures but I would sooner suspect a Windows or computer hardware issue.
