another frozen unit

I have been searching through the posts but I haven't found a solution to this problem.

Just got a (real) ultra and when I first switched it on, everything looked good, did the calibration and self test which passed without problems.? Switched the unit off and then on a few minutes later and the screen lit up as usual but it has no signal trace as it did originally.

I have tried holding the toggle to one side and switched it on but still no trace.? Tried unplugging the battery and updated the firmware with several versions, some quite a bit older but still no signal trace showing.?

Am I doing something wrong or does this need to be returned for a working unit?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Try holding the multifunction switch to the left and then powering on the computer, if it boot up fine, try executing clearconfig once.

Thanks but I have tried that several times. ?Display shows the grid and labels but no trace. ?

Can you check if there is any TRACE enabled?

How do I do this please?

I just looked this feature up. ?I can¡¯t get to any menu functions when I power the unit on. ?The screen doesn¡¯t respond to any taps.
Maybe I should try reseating the screen connection.

With the unit turned on, you can access the MENU by pressing down on the center of the jog wheel?

However, if the display does not respond to any pressure, you may want to check the display connections as you said, or that the display is overly pressed into the case.

The menu doesn't appear when I press down on the jog wheel.? The unit will go into DFU mode by holding down the jog wheel and turning the unit on.? ?I'll check the display connection when I get home.? Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Problem solved!

The problem was resolved by re-seating the screen flex cable onto the board. ?I found a previous post that had exactly the same symptoms as my unit and Erik suggested reseating the display flex cable and that worked perfectly on my unit too.

Thank you Toni for all of your help and suggestions as well!

Now the fun begins¡
