Request for testers for the tinySA

During the last weeks I have been designing, together with Hugen, a self contained, ready build, hand-held spectrum analyzer to be sold for a very acceptable price.
The outline and display are exactly the same as the nanoVNA and the tinySA will come with a housing.
As the HW performance now seems to be OK and the SW is more or less complete i could use the help of some (not many) testers.
Preferably people that already own (or have access to) a spectrum analyzer and are active building something that requires a spectrum analyzer in the 0.1MHz till 350MHz range.
This tinySA can also capture 240MHz till 960MHz (with somewhat reduced performance and functionality) and it can also be used as a signal generator (0-350MHz and 240MHz till 9060MHz)
If you think you could contribute to the testing feel free to send me a PM with some info on the project you'd like the tinySA for.
There will only be a limited number of tester products.
Selected testers will receive a tinySA and are kindly requested to use it and feedback their experience.
I create a dedicated tinysa group for this purpose. /g/tinysa/topics
More information on this version of the tinySA can be found in this wiki
Please be patient as the wiki is running a bit behind.

Hi Eric
I offer myself as tester and has the following gear:
R&S CMU200 SA(10MHz-2.7GHz) with signal generator (0.1MHz to 2.7GHz) version CRTU-RU

HP8559A SA 0.1MHz to 18GHz

Signal generator HP8664A 0.1MHz to 3GHz

2xHP141T SA covering 0.1MHz and 18GHz and 1,6GHz tracking generator

and then some more handy stuff :)
Kind regards
Kurt?

Hello, i can help you test tinySA

My main work is development, repair, support of aviation communication systems (i not programmer, it my hobby, but i can help vs software)

It is possible to check the required characteristics on various equipment.

Hello, i can help you vs test tinySA?

? My main job is the development, repair, maintenance of aviation communications systems. Therefore, I have the opportunity to test it on various equipment (compare with other spectrum analyzers, check on various signal generators and on real radio stations).
Also can help vs software (it my hobby)

Erik,

I would love to test out this TinySA and have been with the project since December of 2019 and have a version built up like you did on protoboards. I have A LOT of test equipment at hand (mostly HP and Agilent) for checkout and am knowledgeable of the design. Please do consider me for this effort - thanks,

For now there are sufficient candidate testers.

No problem. If any candidates drop out, I'm always willing to help.?

I'm fed up taking the 8591C out in the car :-)

Note also: Due to my long work schedule, I often don't check emails for 4 days in a row, and then answer them on my 3 days off,... hence why I did not see the request for volunteers earlier.

Also a potential tester..

Comparison gear HP8568B, tough to move but a great instrument
the other is Rigol DSA815T? portable without back pain.

Experience with the larger HP line like 8590 and? R&S FSH6 portable.
?Plus building my own in the analog era.

Received mine today and installed a 450mah lithium battery for?
familiarization and testing.

Quick question is the using set up to charge the battery from a USB source?

Yes.
Please make sure you install the new FW as indicated on the wiki
You can choose to use ch.dfu or ch.bin or ch.hex

That will take a bit of time to configure my linux system for that.

I started with installed version to get a handle on "normal" operation.
Doesn't have to work perfect that way only to get a feel.
