Re: TinySA Ultra+ ZS406 Self test Test 8: Passband failed ? #bug_report #ultra

The criteria are set a bit too strict.
Will update the FW in the near future to solve this minor problem

Re: TinySA Ultra+ ZS406 Self test Test 8: Passband failed ? #bug_report #ultra

Hi Hasan,

that is exactly the same selftest behaviour than with me! I have sent my Tinysa back to vendor, but I wonder it might be a systematic error. Perhaps the tolerances of test#8 are a bit tight?

And Eric,

what could be the consequences of a spurious fail of test#8? What does this test really messure?

Re: Spur at 4.275 GHz on ZS-407

I can confirm that the latest firmware has fixed the spurs as reported on my ZS-407.
after installing the latest firmware did a self test - all ok, but
I notice that the reference level (top left) and the minimum level (bottom left) is red
Performed a LEVEL CAL now all?back to normal.?

Thank you Erik.

I have a similar prob?although not quite as bad, the rear of my 407 is the same as Andrew's except the serial # as expected. Mine also appears to be a little later as the serial # is greater. I've duplicated?the first 4 images for comparison.

Thanks Bob,

seems there will be no other choice than to get it exchanged. But i still wonder how "severe" it is if not passed !

Hasan,

This sounds a lot like the problem that was reported and resolved just yesterday in this thread:

Re: Would like to report a new fake chinese hardware for TinySA

Hi,

""So you don't want reports of new clones of your hardware?? Am I getting that right?""

yup ....?
there's pretty much nothing that can e done about the clone sites anyway

""If so, that's fine and will leave it at that.? Just thought I was helping out.""

The best "help" is to post the info on where the genuine products are available from
that way it aims people to the good stuff rather than the garbage :)?
eg ....

? ??

lists all the safe places to buy?

cheers
Dave

I don't like FAKE hardware clones.? The original developers/artists/etc deserve that (as one myself).

Maybe you want to lower the tolerance for this self test item.

Hugen,

your comment is interesting for me, because the test fail #8 did not occur in every test run. Sometimes there are 4 or 5 good runs , but the next fails. Sometimes there a 3 or 4 bad runs that fail in sequence.? Therefore I ran several level calibrations, but they did not fix it.?

I will return it to vendor!

Hartmut?

Sorry, it really isn't a clone. This is due to a deviation in the IF filter, and although we have rechecked it several times during the production process, there are still some with smaller deviations that passed the test during production, but could not pass the test in subsequent tests. You can try contacting your supplier for a replacement.

Re: Selftest fail #bug_report

You did not buy from an authorized vendor so you might have received a clone.

Re: Selftest fail #bug_report

This does not look good and can not be repaired by different FW or other user action

Selftest fail #bug_report

My TinySa Ultra+, just bought on Amazon from
Pinsaitec, fails on selftest #8. I have implemented newest firmware, have done several calibration runs! No efford! What can I do, before returning the device to vendor??
Best regards, Hartmut
