That sounds like a useful feature.? I hope you add it...

Valid seller to UK

Ordered a TinySA Ultra from AliExpress yesterday, having checked it was from one of the approved sellers on there. Went and looked at the status today and see it is being supplied by Geek Selected Tools Store. Looks a bit close to some of the other unapproved sellers, am I being over cautious.

TINY SA Ultra Listen

Can I plug Iphone earphones (TRRS) into the Ultra?

Most devices I own that have a stereo jack have no issue with IphoneTRRS plug

Just curious

The input level does not impact level accuracy as long as you do not get the red markers signalling possible overload or the red "reduced level accuracy" warning.

Perchance I simply missed it but, for the best accuracy, what would be the best input level for the lower input? ?With my new coming Ultra, what would be the best level?

As an aside: ?I don't know if 'for sales' are allowed but with my new Ultra coming, I will be selling my second tinySA. ?If any interest, please only send a private note!!! ?Thus after sale, I will have one Ultra and one tinySA.

Thank you Erik for your out outstanding work and truly amazing price, ? ? ? ? larry

An alternative mixing plan in general is not possible. Depending on frequency and RBW, specific alternatives may be possible but validating these in a generic way is too much work.
Using the console commands you can change the IF frequency, above/below IF and the harmonic mode giving you sufficient flexibility to explore alternatives optimized for your requirements

#ultra Altered Mixing Plan #ultra

Hi, Erik,
I understand how signal spur removal works in Ultra mode. Obviously it can't work for short duration signals. When I monitor short signals using the Max Hold function, I accumulate most of the occurrences of the signal being monitored over time. Unfortunately, however, false signals are also collected at the same time, which is annoying. ?
If the user could switch to an alternative mixing plan and perform a new collection of short signals, the spurious signals would be slightly frequency shifted and thus distinguishable. The correct signal won't change its position, the spurious one will. Would it be possible to implement the "Altered Mixing Plan" function in the future? I think it would be useful.

Re: Touch Screen Issue

Did you try to press the jog wheel?
Try to reduce pressure from the case on the screen by relaxing the 4 screws
Maybe the pressure causes a false touch

Re: Rotate Display 90 degrees? #feature_request

It took me a few failures to boot before I realized I was building for the original TinySA and had to figure out how to switch to the Ultra. Once I figured that out, editing DISPLAY_ROTATION_*, LCD_WIDTH and LCD_HEIGHT was easy enough. Then I also had to adjust the size of the waterfall to be more reasonable. Still haven't figured out touch, (so many Xs and Ys) but the jog switch works fine. I'm sure this will have lots of negative impacts to stability going forward (I've already had one crash, and the "starting..." screen has a block of noise to the bottom (formerly right) of the display before moving on), but I'll figure it out. Thank you Erik.

Touch Screen Issue

Just received mine from R&L. Did the firmware up grade and calibration. It worked fine yesterday. Today when it boots up and I touch the screen it defaults to the frequency setting screen. The only inputs it accepts are from the jog wheel. I select? touch test and I get a black screen with STATE: 0. Th jog wheel rotates between 2 and 8 but does not allow selecting either. It does not allow me to d
"drag" the panel. The battery is fully charge. Any thoughts?

Re: TinySA Ultra - Start Up Behavior

Picking up on Michael Brun's second question, and without knowing the requirements for programming, I dare to suggest that the SAVE AS STARTUP menu could include a check box (i.e. called LAST STATE), so that if it is not checked, the SAVE AS STARTUP will continue to work as it does now, but if it is selected by user?s check mark, any changes to the actual settings would also be automatically stored in the STARTUP registry, so that on power up SA would have the same configuration as it had on switch off.

This improvement could work in both TinySA and TinySA ULTRA ?without the need for more memory to store the startup settings and the last state configuration, as one settings is enough.

Nice work Erik!

Re: #Ultra Which software to download for Win7Pro? #ultra

There are several ways to update the firmware and the tinySA Wiki on this procedure describes several ways to do it.

The link I provided in my previous post installs a DFU driver and a flash tool called program DFUSe Demo.?? You can use DFUSe demo but I prefer the flash tool that is built into the tinySA app.? It works well and is easy to use. Just put the tinySA Ultra in flash mode by depressing the rocker switch and powering on.? Then start the tinySA app? and just enter into the flash routine by clicking the ^^^^ button.? Next select the location of your xxx.dfu file by clicking the folder button.? The old firmware is erased and the new flashed in one step.?

If you have problems with flashing or installing the DFU driver you can read the firmware upgrade section of the Absolute Beginners Guide to the NanoVNA.? The NanoVNA and tinySA use the same flash process and? drivers so the details are in this document?

*** Post edited with correct links

On Windows 7 you will need several things for your Ultra.
  • A serial COM port driver so that you can exchange serial data with a PC app
  • A DFU driver and update program so that you can update the tinySA firmware
  • the tinySA application so that you can do spectrum sweeps and update the firmware.

Also, I have a Samsung 10" Tablet. Is there yet any software available for it to operate the Ultra?
Ray, W4BYG

There is no Android tablet support for the tinySA

Yes that is an error in the TinySA Ultra menu.? Erik will probably do an update before too long.

Bill,

The Ultra is a complete circuit re-design and does not use high and low ports.? I
