Re: 0.1 db resolution measurement
I suspect that showing the measurement in steps of 0.1dB instead of 0.5 dB is only because it is the result of AVER4 calculations.

Re: 0.1 db resolution measurement
In your video you are confusing resolution with accuracy.? The resolution can be quite small but that does NOT mean the measurement is that accurate.
*Resolution* - how "fine" can we make the

0.1 db resolution measurement
When measuring the gain of several antennas it is preferred to have a better resolution than the usual 0,5 db resolution.
Through watching several YT videos i noticed the "measure" and "noise" method,

Re: Lead free solder and q.c.
RoHS did make some repairs easier. Pull off the RF shield, blow/brush out all the whiskers, solder on a new shield, and hope it doesn't come back until after the warranty runs out.

Re: Lead free solder and q.c.
When RoHS first hit the ground, there was an ample number of exemptions for
industrial equipment of a certain size, or larger.
I haven't had to prep for RoHS since 2005, so I can't speak to the

Yes, Jim, where I worked at the time in the storage industry, the RoS
initiative to ban lead solder was a huge thing and a huge effort.
Personally, I still much prefer the eutectic solder as that

I had it forced on me at my day job. Partly due to the fact that we sold a lot of product to EU and other offshore customers. We retained some of our beloved 63/37 on the (valid) excuse that we

Re: Audio Jack connector came adrift
BTW, looking at the visible “pool” of flux just around those 3 pads, I reckon they had been hand soldered or touched in at the factory. Nothing wrong with that of course, just an observation.

Yes, the new lead-free solder is brittle. Using SM components, over
typical temperature cycling it causes many delaminations at the ends of the
SM components. It's a time bomb waiting to happen with
