Re: Attenuator Recommendations
If you can find an Elecraft CP1 and have a dummy load (a Cantenna or 300W dry load), that will get you down 30 dB up to 250W for the HF bands. Doug. K4DDM. -- This email has been checked for viruses

All good. I feel like that's easier than any of the other options in the long run, but I suppose not all are adept at the command line of an operating system. So dfu-util for linux is the best (and

Very good description, Jim; firmware update works well and smoothly. For updating with a Mac, an excellent suggestion to use "brew" for installing the loader utility program, without any need to

Here is a fellow describing the exact design as used in the QEX article. You will want to build the 50dB version. This of course will have to be used in conjunction with a dummy load (up to 100W

There is an article that was published in either QST or QEX for a 50dB sampler a while back. I think the author was Bab Larkin. It was a DIY sampler pick off and was part of a power meter project if I

The one I have is rated at 100 watts. I got it from M3 Electronix which has been gone for years. I did find the instructions for the kit.

Re: Attenuator Recommendations
Suggestion for a 100-watt transmitter: 1) start with a 6 dB attenuator at 100-watts. You're now down to 25-watts. 2) follow that with another 6 dB attenuator at 10-watts. You're now down to

That can handle 100 watts??? Don't know about making your own... The 50db 100 watt pictured at the link is $1000.00 U.S! The 40db is $900.00! Not cheap!!

I was going to say if you're going to put out 100 watts that first attenuator on the radio is not going to be cheap.. probably a variable attenuator of some sort with a substantial built-in dummy

IF you want to measure higher power from a transmitter, a nice 40db tap works great, eary to homebrew, do a duck duck and a couple of "how to" show up,? Gets the power down where you can use the 1w
