You can toggle the selections between Start/Stop and Center/Span by touching in the empty area. As already mentioned the hot spots are hard to find and I can rarely do it twice in a row but am thankful that Erik has promised improvement in the next firmware.

Erik,
After repeated very careful calibration of the touchpad with a sharp toothpick (and glasses), everything worked as it should. My carelessness with previous touch calibrations is to blame, there are no complaints against you. Thanks, |

On some Ultra's the bottom region for touching the frequency is too small and it won't work
Next FW update will have an enlarged area -- For more info on the tinySA go to https://tinysa.org/wiki/ |

Re: New FW release: INTERVAL trigger and 50Hz modulation
Hi Erik,
Wow, I can't believe how quickly you added the interval trigger function, and doing some quick initial tests using my TinySA (purchased from R&L Electronics) it looks like it will be more than adequate (not perfect as you noticed, but pretty darn good).? With zero span set to a frequency of 1.85 MHz I set my display time to 20 msec (actually results in 20.1msec) to look at slightly more than one complete 60 Hz sine wave cycle, and then I set the interval time to 16.7 msec to get the most stationary display of the RFI generated by my light dimmer which operates off of 60 Hz power.? I then set the interval timer to 33.6 msec to get the most stationary display, and also set it to 50.5 msec to get the most stable display.? Mathematically the intervals that should have worked well should have been 16.7 msec 33.3 msec, 50.0 msec so you can see the actual values I had to use are slightly different than the mathematically derived values but still pretty close and easy to compensate for by watching which direction the trace moves and adjusting the interval value accordingly. I also tested the system using 50 Hz by setting my function generator to 50 Hz and generating a square wave to generate harmonics and once again listening up on 1.85 MHz in Zero Span Mode.? I selected a display time of 30 msec to capture slightly more than 1 complete cycle of a 50 Hz sinewave (actual display time was 30.2 msec), and I obtained the most stable display with the trigger interval time set to 40.4 msec while the mathematically correct value should have been 40.0 msec.? I will do additional tests on the bench as well as out in the field looking at real powerline noise but to far it sure looks like you have added the feature I suggested and the results are more than acceptable with the understanding that slight movement of the display from right to left or left to right depending on the user entered value of interval time will happen and a completely stationary display is unlikely due to timer resolution constraints, etc). I will provide more feedback as I do additional tests, but so far it looks very good, and certainly can't thank you enough for entertaining this added feature. Don (wd8dsb) |

Toni,
Thank you for explanation, but I can't find area, where I must touch for calling the FREQ submenu or the submenus to change them.? I mean area in the red rectangle on screenshot below. I touched it all by stylus, but this calls? previously used menu only. FW 1-4-32 on both models. Could you point me to area for calling FREQ submenu please? Thanks, |

Hello Erik.
Very nice additions in every new version, thanks! Can you please make the 'preset' > 'store'?? show the frequencies already filling the slots (and not only store1 to store4). It helps in populating the store command with info of where you want to put new preset frequencies... TIA?????? Joe. |

My TinySA Ultra arrived today
Hi My TinySA Ultra arrived today from china from zeenko store
i have done some quick tests using my old HP gsm test set and it is spot on on SA and signal generator level, i did buy a? tinysa that the SA read ok and the call level was ok but the sig gen output was low to what it should have been, i showed Erik one of the screens, and he told me it was a clone, i did take it apart and it is fully screened ,? but as the ultra is so much better rather then trying to fix the clone tinysa i orderd the tinysa ultra from the correct seller, and i am very happy with it, Thanks Dave 2E0DMB |

Re: #feature_request

Ctoyan,
Currently, it is already implemented that touching?left and right (where the current start and stop or center and span frequencies are indicated) calls the submenus to change them. Perhaps you wanted to indicate that touching in the center (where the frec/ is indicated), will call the FREQUENCY submenu. That would be an improvement. Toni |

Having trouble installing tinysa-saver on my M1 Mac..
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI'm having trouble installing tinysa-saver on my M1Mac. Further, I managed?to ask this question on nanava-users.After doing 'brew update' & 'brew upgrade': llaassllaass@M1max-D Downloads % python --version Python 2.7.11 llaassllaass@M1max-D Downloads % python3 --version Python 3.10.9 So far all went well. llaassllaass@M1max-D ~ % git clone Cloning into 'tinysa-saver'... remote: Enumerating objects: 2992, done. remote: Counting objects: 100% (14/14), done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (13/13), done. remote: Total 2992 (delta 3), reused 9 (delta 1), pack-reused 2978 Receiving objects: 100% (2992/2992), 2.18 MiB | 2.10 MiB/s, done. Resolving deltas: 100% (2100/2100), done. Again, all is well. Now the problem. llaassllaass@M1max-D ~ % cd tinysa-saver llaassllaass@M1max-D tinysa-saver % python3 -m pip install . Processing /Users/llaassllaass/tinysa-saver Preparing metadata (setup.py) ... done WARNING: Retrying (Retry(total=4, connect=None, read=None, redirect=None, status=None)) after connection broken by 'ReadTimeoutError("HTTPSConnectionPool(host='pypi.org', port=443): Read timed out. And then: ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement pyserial (from tinysasaver) (from versions: none) ERROR: No matching distribution found for pyserial WARNING: There was an error checking the latest version of pip. I tried without the ending '.' : llaassllaass@M1max-D tinysa-saver % python3 -m pip install ERROR: You must give at least one requirement to install (see "pip help install") WARNING: There was an error checking the latest version of pip. So, I tried to see if 'pip' is installed: llaassllaass@M1max-D tinysa-saver % whereis pip pip: /usr/local/bin/pip Any suggestions?? Thanks, larry |

In the current version, touching the scale, attenuation, spur, RBW, VBW, scan time icons in the left column directly calls the corresponding submenus. It would be great if touching the frequency display area at the bottom of the screen directly called the FREQUENCY submenu. Applies to both models.
