Re: TinySA ULTRA calibration reset error

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi, Erik!

When I turn on TinySA, Ultra Mode is marked as on. When I turn Ultra Mode off and on again, the sensitivity on the upper band is OK!

The error is therefore in the UltraMode reset.

And indeed, when I turn on TinySA, even when UltraMode is on, it cannot set frequencies above 800 MHz
I have to turn Ultra Mode off and back on.

Thanks, Mirek

Dne 02.12.2022 v 14:06 Erik Kaashoek napsal(a):

I can't replicate this.?
The loss of sensitivity above 800MHz indicates the device does not switch to ultra mode when asked to scan above 800MHz.
Can you disable/enable ultra mode after loading the preset and check if the sensitivity above 800MHz comes back?

TinySA ULTRA calibration reset error

I set the band 1MHz to 3 GHz
PRESET...STORE...STORE1

I perform the calibration
CONFIG...LEVEL CAL...CALIBRATE 100 kHz TO 5.34 GHz...CALIBRATE

I will connect HP8657B generator, out level -60 dBm
TinySA: 100 MHz -60.3 dBm
??????? 500 MHz -60.3 dBm
??????? 750 MHz -60.5 dBm
??????? 900 MHz -60.4 dBm
??????? 1600MHz -60.8 dBm
Excellent accuracy! Congratulations.

Turn off TinySA...Turn on TinySA...PRESET...1000kHz 3GHz
I connect the HP8657B generator, out level -60 dBm
TinySA: 100 MHz -60.3 dBm
??????? 500 MHz -60.3 dBm
??????? 750 MHz -60.5 dBm
??????? 900 MHz nothing
??????? 1600MHz nothing
Above 800 MHz the sensitivity is very poor, calibration is lost.

Re: Rotate Display 90 degrees? #feature_request

Making the screen width/height variable will lead to substantial increase in code size and lower the speed of display updates.
This will not have a high priority

Rotate Display 90 degrees? #feature_request

Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option to rotate the display 90 degrees on the Ultra? The display on it appears about as tall as the original is wide, so I wouldn't imagine it would be too difficult to implement (although I will admit I know next to nothing about UI design). I could see this being useful for testing HT antennas, one-handed searching a room for RFI, and it would allow for a really tall waterfall. I'm probably in the minority in wanting this, but I thought I'd ask.

I am now the happy owner of 1 TinySA and 1 TinySA Ultra btw. Thank you.

It is OK now.

Re: Tiny SA shipped

Hi all!
Happy owner of two TinySA originals here. Just ordered the new Ultra on 11-30 from the Zeenko store on AliExpress. Got the shipping notice today (12-1). Looking forward to receiving it soon to add it to my test bench collection (Two TinySA, two NanoVNA-H4).
Thanks Erik, Hugen, and everyone involved in the production of these fantastic devices!?

Start STM32CubeProgrammer and click on the button in the red circle. Make sure "USB" is selected in the button left of CONNECT and click on "No DFU" to select a USB port listed, you may have to click the refresh button to the right to refresh the list of ports, and once "No DFU" has changed to something like "USB1", click CONNECT

Now the window will look like this:

Use the BROWSE button to select the downloaded tinySA.bin file
Leave all settings as shown above and click START PROGRAMMING
After some seconds the nanoVNA-H4 will reboot and start up as a DMTD

Erik,
In an ideal world that would be how it works. But not in my case.
I¡¯m in dentist chair at the moment. I¡¯ll try with a different?computer later?today.?
Also, Malware Bytes software really doesn¡¯t like your website.?

I¡¯ll try with a bare computer without my antivirus software.

Thanks for the response.?

Re: New tinySA Ultra FW release: time/date added to status panel

I'm trying to update the FW in my original tinySA before the Ultra.
In STM32, first I get the readout protection message.
I check the "Read Unprotect" box but then the program tells me to power off/on the device.
I do that, get back into DFU mode, USB1 but when I try to connect, I once again get the power off/on message.

What am I missing?

I'm not seeing mention of this in the wiki or am I missing it?
