Re: Attenuator Fail - Again
开云体育I’ve so far only used it with the external antenna on, measuring IF oscillator frequencies by waving the antenna near the oscillator tuning capacitor.? To my recollection, there’s been no chance for an overload. ? From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> on behalf of John Cunliffe W7ZQ <n2nep@...> ? The main reason for input attenuator failure on any spectrum analyzer is front end overload. Are you making sure you don't have too much power at the input? blew out the attenuator of his TinySA checking a 2-30Mhz preamplifier that unfortunately had a spurious oscillation at 200Mhz producing nearly 150mw of signal. I always recommend the use of a power limiter similar to |

Attenuator Fail - Again
开云体育I’ve had my TinySA for a few weeks.? Today I ran the self-test and I’m getting the “Test 12: Attenuator Fail” when running the self-test.? All the other tests are passing.? This is the second TinySA I’ve had with this failure popping up (the last one was returned for exchange) – is this a critical issue or can I ignore it? ? Steve, KW4H |
Re: New video: September 2021 feature update
开云体育Thanks, Ted. I didn't even notice the new menus after installing 1.3-317. I just saw that Erik was using -319, and thought I needed that.Terry On 9/22/2021 12:19 PM, Ted Chesley

This is quote long. Hopefully it does not put a strain on the SMA connector.

Re: WARNING: Mirfield sold clones after they promised not to do so.
Hello all,
Just to follow up my previous message. I received my TinySA from Mirfield Electronics yesterday - four days after I ordered it (with a weekend in between). From what I can see (checking the points on ) it is a totally legitimate genuine item. I have not updated the firmware yet but it is showing "v1.3-111" dated 15th May 2021. Chris G8IPN |
Uploaded latest firmware but TinySA still shows prior FW

开云体育Hello,? Sorry if this has been already been gone over, but I downloaded the latest DFU file for upgrading my FW from 0.3 to 1.3.? After figuring out how to get the proper drivers loaded and the DfuSeDemo to see the TinySA, I was able to apparently get a successful upload to the TinySA. ? However, when I check under CONFIG>VERSION, it still says v0.3 ? What did I miss? ? Thanks ? Mike ? ? |
Re: TinySA Antenna
开云体育John, I measured SWR of tinySA Telescopic Antenna by NanoVNA SAA2. The antenna with max length has good SWR at 300MHz and 740MHz. It has very bad SWR under 300MHz. でつ good grief? ? tommie from Tokyo, JP 2021/09/22 2:52、John Cunliffe W7ZQ <n2nep@...&驳迟;のメール:

Re: TinySA Antenna
Tommie
The impedance of a telescopic antenna is nowhere near either 75 nor 50 ohms unless adjusted in length to a specific frequency. It will then be impedance matched on this one frequency only. Any telescopic antenna with SMA connector will work. The input of the TinySA however is 50 ohms. John |
Re: tinysa can't connect or see in com port or usb connections for PC windows 7
#tinysa
The TinySA communicates with the PC in two modes:? USB Console and DFU mode.? They use different drivers for each mode.
USB Console Mode is used to communicate with the PC application "tinySA-App" DFU mode is used to update the firmware WIN 7 does not come with the drivers to recognize the TinySA in USB mode or DFU mode. A similar problem exists with the NanoVNA which uses a similar USB interface.? The problem is discussed in this document which uses the PC app NanoVNA Saver (TinySA uses "tinySA-App")? Here is a source for the driver for USB mode . You want? en.stsw-stm32102.zip (STM32 Virtual Com Port driver).? Unzip it and install the Windows 7 version.? After that you can connect to "tinySA-App" by selecting the associated COM port. For upgrading the firmware you will need to install the DFU driver which is another stp. Roger |
