Re: What to do when a selftest fails

Hello
I have recently bought this wonderful device from neven.cz. After receiving it I have run self test successfully, upgraded firmware, run test and calibration again, everything went well.?
Then I took it to first gig. It has proven it's qualities right from the start. But after some time I have noticed some strange readings. I did a self test and you can see results down bellow.?
It was measuring 700-800Mhz band with default settings and supplied antenna, only using the waterfall display. The device was connected to a usb charger.?
Is there a time limit for measuring or any overheating issues? The device was running continuously for a few hours.
?
I'm considering buying a second piece, but I need to now how to protect it or if it's even capable of surviving the harsh concert enviroment.
?

The pulse on out is VERY small. A couple of millivolt.

Thanks for the answer, Richard!

Indeed the SDS1000X-E does not support Bode plot. But, as far as I understood from the video in initial post, you could use Ch2 as trigger based on the Pulse High output on Cal.
This would start/stop the scope measurement sweep on Ch1 (where my filter is connected) at the same time as TinySA freq sweep starts/stops based on the trigger coming on Ch2 from SA Pulse High.
?
Hence my question - since I haven't managed to reproduce the guide in the mentioned video, is it something wrong with my TinySA Cal output or am I doning something wrong

Re: No pulse on CAL when freq sweeping on signal generator #tinysa #ultra

Hi,?

The 2 channel SDS1000X-E does not support the Bode Plot, the 4 channel scope does. See page 236 of the owners manual.

Press the Utility button then go to to the second page. The Bode Plot selection is missing on the 2 channel scope.

I'm not sure if there has been a firmware update that makes a change to support the Bode Plot.

Richard?

I want to use TinySA Ultra to align IF transformers by? visualising the freq attenuation (bode plot) on an oscilloscope.

However, the TinySA Ultra does not seem to output the sweep pulse on Cal output. I did checked the Pulse High option.
Below are pictures with scope output and TinySA settings.

Can anyone give me a clue?

Re: Turn off display

Some of the new mini-pcs have USB ports that are not powered.

Another common source for RF noise in these VHF frequency ranges, is a bad cable-TV setup somewhere.
I seem to recall a particular problem was cable channel 52(?) coming up in the 2 meter band.

When I search for a zk10 I get all kinds off stuff also. But when I search on zk10d I get the chip. Be adware that the results differ from country to country.?

I tried the link also, message "oeps does not deliver in your country".

Look at the price difference.

Link definitely works in Australia, but I then tried changing the delivery address to my daughters address in USA Ma, and it then said "Page not found"

Works in Australia

Re: Hunting Spurious Emission at 154 MHz

My experience agrees with yours re MATV. I work in large stadiums, and it is unusual to monitor TV channels that should not be there "Over the Air" and indeed are not measurable when moving to different parts of the stadium.
It is currently especially prevalent as large screen MATV's in public areas are being replaced with IPTVs and little care is taken of the unterminated MATV coax, it's often just shoved back into the wall. In a large stadium it can be a two year project to migrate 100's of TV's add all the switches run CAT 6, all the time there are more and more unterminated Coax.
the dead giveaway is seeing Channel 27 with a 7MHz signal (Australia uses 7MHz TV channels) but 27 was never used Over the Air as it is 519-526MHz and Two-way Land Mobile Radios are 450-520MHz. (520-526MHz is really a guard band).

Seller sent me same link, and i guss it does not ship to my region. Aliexpress returns 404 for me.

Re: #tinysa #ultra Leveling TinySA Ultra with damaged LNA #tinysa #ultra

What can I say? For me it popped up a tiny square "blue smoke" container that amplifies radio signals. Maybe try ZK10D. The point was that a quick search will solve the problem more quickly than a complaint posted to an internet group. Links posted by someone often don't work as intended for others for various reasons. But you don't need to fret about the reasons to find what you are looking for.

Very interesting. It works for Canada. But indeed? it does not work for USA, UK, France, Spain...
