Re: What to do when a selftest fails
Hello, here you are the photos of tests. In my previous post I incorrectly mentioned tests 10,12 and 14. It were tests 10,13 and 14 as it's seen in the photos. I also tried a calibration with the

Re: What to do when a selftest fails
Hi, I am writing on behalf of my dad, who bought TInySA Ultra in Eleshop NL. He's never done any self-test or a firmware upgrade of the device. He got a recommendation by his friend to do firmware

Re: Frequency generator gives wrong output?
The RF connector is both input and output. You seem to use the CAL output and that won't work -- Designer of the tinySA For more info go to https://tinysa.org/wiki

Frequency generator gives wrong output?
Last week I bought two TinySA Ultra's. I want to calibrate both for frequencies above 5.34 GHz. But if I put one TinySA in Signal Generator mode on 5.34 GHz, the other TinySA sees not this frequency,

Re: Frequency generator output
Since the level calibration only completed with errors, and Erik said that the TinySA was therefore not calibrated, it may be that the generator output level is not what it is supposed to be. It is

Bit late to the party, but my 1.4-177 version seems to be working fine. I turned BN on/off several times and all seems to be fine I have multiple traces that show average, max, 8 markes and all is

Re: Frequency generator output
That is good 'mind calibration', knowing what to expect. 10 mV is small on a scope, mine goes to 10mV/div with 10X probe, 1 mV/div with 1x probe at 1M input or direct 50 ohm BNC input.? My scope has

For me there is still a problem, BIG NUMBER does not display the correct level. Here are two displays, each time the same signal is fed. Interestingly, it very rarely displays the correct level even

My Ultra (Same HW and SW) exhibits the same behavior.? Turning BIG NUMBER on works fine, but turning it off stops the scan.

BIG NUMBER trouble
I use my TinySA Ultra a lot, but I haven't needed the BIG NUMBER function for a long time. Until today. And I found out that it doesn't work properly. It displays a different signal than when BIG

Make sure you set the cal out to the right frequency, I think factory is set at 30MHz. John

I dragged out an old Realistic DX-370 and found I could hear the tone on SW. I tried to do the same with the cal output, no tone but thought I should have heard the presence of a carrier, but that did

Re: Frequency generator output
As a backup test, an AM Radio might be useful, at 1 MHz and audio AM modulated you should hear a tone.? If you have a SW set you can tune to 10 MHz.? Just lay a wire near the radio antenna.
