Re: TinySA Ultra Problem.

Good. Now do a Clear Config, then run self calibration and self test.

I don't see where you told us what seller on Amazon supplies this. Firmware should not be this much trouble. You may still have a clone.

Re: Used the tinySA app to update but now won't connect

So far, COM2 is working, but I'll take your advice and choose something above COM8.? I've got nothing but USB ports on my computer and dock outside the HDMI and DVI-D ports. No nasty old serial ports.

TinySA Ultra Problem.

Got the replacement unit in. unit had version#: tinysa4_v1.4-36-g434126d instlled.
Just tried to upgrade to ver: tinysa4_v1.4-156g4eb315d.
using the STM32C software. Downloaded the original file and saved.
Did the same thing as the other unit. After download to unit. Unplugged and turned on. Nothing, black screen. And yes i did get the ULTRA version.?
Tried the BOOT0 and VDD Jumper.
Still now screen.
Any ideas how to get it back.

Re: Used the tinySA app to update but now won't connect

FWIW, my Tiny/Nano boxen like to show up at COM15. I like to stay above the "DOS 4" original COM port assignmets when possible.

Better to pick a higher number than COM2. If it works, it works, but remembering the bad old days of DB-9 and DB-25 connectors everywhere, I'd have headed for COM8 or higher. There's no need to be sequential (COM5, COM6...COMn). Again, if it works, it works. :)

Re: Grey Screen After Firmware Update

Yes I am sure.

Re: Used the tinySA app to update but now won't connect

The TinySA does not know what a COM port is. Windows assigns a port number via the driver for the serial link. You should be able to change the port number even if Windows thinks it is in use.

Re: Grey Screen After Firmware Update

That's a good point. IIRC this is a symptom of incorrect firmware.

Firmware for the Ultra resides here:

For the TinySA classic it is here:

What would you suggest, if anything?

To change the COM port number of a serial device in Device Manager, complete the following:

  1. Open the Device Manager by pressing the Windows Key + R. Type ¡°devmgmt.msc¡± and press Enter.
  2. Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) section.
  3. Right-click the COM port and select Properties.
  4. Click the Port Settings tab and click Advanced.
  5. Change the COM port number to an available COM port number.

Note: Multiple serial ports cannot share the same COM port number.

  1. Restart your computer.

Note: Even if you change the COM port number back to the original number, you still need to restart your computer.
