Re: TinySA Ultra fails self test 3, 4, 7, 11, 14

Don't have access to an oscilloscope, so will work on ordering and replacing the input switch and see if that fixes it.

Thanks again for the help.

Re: Level Correction #ultra

Whenever I want to sniff with the whip antenna I use a preamp or active probe in front of my tinySA.

Re: Level Correction #ultra

Touching any metal/conducting object with the telescopic antenna can destroy the LNA
Having a transmitting antenna close (< some meters depending on the output power) to the tinySA can quickly destroy the LNA when active

Re: Level Correction #ultra

I was wrong to think that the problem was software only. I will try to get an IC for the LNA, but I wonder how a device that is connected only to the telescopic antenna without connecting it to any other device can fail so quickly. What could have caused this failure, what should I pay attention to when using it again.

Thank you for giving me your time.

Re: Level Correction #ultra

The video you recorded clearly show the LNA is not working and calibration is failing.
clearconfig will set all default values. No need to do any other level settings. Just a calibration is sufficient.
WIth a broken LNA there is no setting you can change to make either the selftest or the calibration succeed.

Re: QtTinySA #software

The major change from v0.8.0 onwards was that I use a SQLite database to store all the settings.? For running the Python native version, you may need to add the Qt5 SQLite 3 database driver (libqt5sql5-sqlite) and "Python3 bindings for QT5's SQL Module" from your repository if you don't have them already.? That wouldn't affect the executables though.

My friend Clive is going to see if he can replicate your issue and make any further suggestions.

Re: Level Correction #ultra

Mr. Kaashoek, I also watched your video on YouTube, but the reset I did with that setting turned on does not change anything and gives errors in other tests. Likewise, different tests give error when level input and level output values are changed. Are there default values for input and output values, can I try them.

Re: Level Correction #ultra

You have blown the LNA?
see wiki FAQ: "The LNA is not working. Where can I find a new LNA?"

Hi
I do a 'LEVEL CAL' before 'SELF TEST',? YMMV

Thank you for your answer. I tried this process many times, but nothing changes.

Do?CONFIG/MORE/CLEAR CONFIG 1234 and recalibrate

Level Correction #ultra

Greetings,
I am an Ultra user, I noticed that some of the calls I hear on my handheld radio are very very faint on the ultra screen, while I was looking for how to see these weak signals more clearly with the settings, I changed the INPUT LEVEL, OUTPUT LEVEL in CONFIG > MORE > LEVEL CORRECTION. After breaking this setting, no matter what value I enter, test 10 and test 14 give errors with self test. Although I did everything I read on Tinysa group, I could not fix the problem (Calibrate 100kHz to 5 GHz, 30 MHz calibration, clear config, manual adjustment of attenuator value ...). I don't have a second calibration device, are there default values to correct test 10, 14, or do I have to send it to a professional calibration center. (I don't use the device to read exact values, I use it to monitor spectrum traffic, how can I reconfigure it to show weak signals on the display).

Re: Turn off display

Please contact hugen directly for OEM version
With enough quantities special FW features can be discussed.

Re: Turn off display

I also wondering about turning off the display, but for another reason - to reduce the CPU load and to reduce the scan time. It seems to me that command "pause" do this, but screen still refreshes with static picture. Is it DMA provides refreshing?
By the way, Erik. May be you have planned to release OEM hardware version for embedding? Without display, plastic case and so on?

Best regards?
Lev

Re: Self test

Hopefully you are still within the dispute window with Aliexpress. Check your Aliexpress account to see if you can open a dispute for illegally cloned goods. Best of luck.

Re: Self test

Hello Menon, the version displayed by the software is 0.4.5.1, and the version marked on the back is 0.4.5.1.1. We will not make such low-level mistakes, so this is a clone.

Why did you not buy from zeenko store?
Can you post a photo of the front and back of the device?

Chances are excellent it is a clone, once you updated the SW the test failed.? This has been reported for clones.
