Re: question about cable shipped with TinySA Ultra

Yes, the cable diameter already meets this production tolerance given by them.

I'am not read the chinese characters; - here looks missing the jacket, from the dimension list...

- amazing cable, - branded is not cheap, even on aliexpress;

-
in any case, there may be differences

Thank you Erik for the quick reply. ?I'm glad it's nothing serious. ?Overall, I am very happy with this analyzer.?

Re: TinySA-App CSV Export Bug #ultra #TinySA-App #bug_report #csv

Still hoping to get this bug resolved.

To make this even more confusing to figure out, this error is not a simple percentage applied to all amplitudes.? Referring to the example in my previous post:

545762525.000;?????????? -134.809?????????? (marker shows -117.1)
548322611.000;??????????? -69.185??????????? (marker shows -60.094)
655479516.000;?????????? -135.025?????????? (marker shows -117.28)
-134.809 is 115.12297181896% of -117.1
-69.185 is 115.12796618631% of -60.094
-135.025 is 115.13045702592% of -117.28

Re: Problem selftest 7 TinySA Ultra #ultra

We are still tuning the criteria for the flatness.
The important part of the pass band, the left side, is good, the criteria for the right side may be a bit too strict.
No need to worry, the next FW version will probably pass test 7.

Problem selftest 7 TinySA Ultra #ultra

Hi
I have TinySA ultra but unfortunately it does not pass its selftest 7. You can see that the filter does not have flat characteristics. ?Is this a serious error? ?The device was purchased from the Zenko store. ?What could be the reason and should I complain about the device?

Re: question about cable shipped with TinySA Ultra

Istavan,

You might want to look at the data for SS405 from this vendor. It seems to be very close to what you are seeing and what is shipped with the liteVNA 64 I just received.

Re: question about cable shipped with TinySA Ultra

- LMR100 cable, and I can measure a diameter of 2.8 mm on it; as I can see on the data sheet...

The blue one
is exactly 3 mm in diameter, not 2.65 mm! and looks little bit more flexible like LMR100

SS405 has solid steel inner conductor...???
(I don't know how it can be use some crimp connector on it - a contact problem is expected)

The prices on Aliexperss are astounding.

Re: question about cable shipped with TinySA Ultra

Hi,

A lot of information has been shaken out of the bushes in this thread. I have always been a "forty meter ham" and I get dizzy if I exceed 30MHz! Checking harmonic content at *my* frequencies seems rather trivial compared to what these machines and their cables can do. Thank you everybody for the big boost in confidence using these. I have been considering use of the amateur satellites so I might use some of the higher spectrum capabilities here but not even close to the limits.

This might be a question for Erik. What is the cable manufacturer and model shipped with the TinySA Ultra? I'm interested in the bend radius for purposes of putting the Ultra and various accessories in a box.

Thanks for?your help.

I think most miss the point, Hugen clearly stated at the begin of this thread that the delivered cable is a Chinese version of LMR100.

Re: #feature_request #feature_request

WIll have a look if this will fit in available memory.
The functionality is already implemented for the tinySA Ultra

Hello,

this cables aren't compareable at all.

The RG316 is a cable for flexible use. The SS405 is a cable to have a more flexible alternative to the corresponding semirigid cables.

The SS405 will last longer then a semirigid if moved, but much less then a RG316.

The SS405 can last long if the bending diameter is limited by a tube with limited bending capabilities and the SS405 can move freely inside this protection tube.

You can use a spiral coiled tube, like the one made for showers. This protects the cable.

The RG316 in contrast is a very simple cable that is easy to handle with limited capabilities.

Please be aware that the linked datasheet for the Suhner cable shows a very interesting thing, the inner conductor is a mix out of steel and copper wire. This shows that this cable is made for robustness.

The RG400 is a different thing, it is more of the RG223/RG58 size.

All the Best,

Isidro

Re: question about cable shipped with TinySA Ultra

I see; even the double shielded RG316 specified only till 3GHz...

- this cable
almost the same structure and specified till 6Ghz...

The RG400 has also multiple inner conductor... and spec till 12,4Ghz (comparable spec and dimension to RG223)

here just only till 6Ghz, why?;

I wonder what kind of blue cable it is, that comes with the v2 NanoVNA's.? - I measure 0.5dB lower loss on it (30cm 4,4GHz), like the tinySA black cable...
