I haven't had any issues with Aliexpress but I buy only inexpensive or equipment I can repair. Returns are not cost effective. Shipping costs to China are prohibitive. The smallest USPS Priority box, about 8x6x2 inches, costs 42 dollars to ship.

Re: and a small discone antenna

Glass is an excellent dielectric for RF.? But don't forget to compensate for the relative dielectric constant.? In the following the first column is the relative dielectric constant and the second column is the loss tangent for various types of glass.

Here are the same parameters for PTFE, Teflon:

As stated in the previous email, I will not deal with the Chinese suppliers.? Especially AlliExpress!!? Nor will my CU deal with AlliExpress for my credit card.?

I will gladly wait for R&L to show stock.

When I ordered mine from R&L they were out of stock at the time, I just placed the order anyway and it went to backorder, when they received a shipment I was in line to get one, and got an email notifying me of shipment...?
Like you did not want to order from overseas...??

Re: self-test error

Can you try another coax cable as there is something wrong with the signal level

Re: self-test error

Hi Erik,

Pls see CAL test made just now. FW 1.3-512

Re: self-test error

Can you first do a level calibration and then run the test again?
If the level calibration fails, post a photo of the fail message
Make sure the test on the screen is readable

the PICO machines ate also interesting as I have a spare Raspberry Pi i could set up for use with it, but even so they ate more expensive.?

Did you connect the CAL and RF connectors with a short coax?

I would give another big thumbs-up vote for the Siglent SDS 1104X-E (4 channel/200 MHz capable if you want/Bode plots with add-on FG/solid math(s) w/ a useable FFT). Also, the wifi/ethernet capability and remote control via http works great. You can do a lot of monitoring and capturing of data from your computer directly.

In practice, recently I've found a battery operated scope more useful than an bench model. Something like:

#Ultra received today - two weeks and two days from order date Nov. 30, 2022 #ultra

Hi all!
My new TinySA Ultra arrived in the mail today, two weeks and two days from ordering on Nov. 30, 2022. Everything looks great! Screen is straight, nice and sharp. Touch works like it should. FW tinySA_v1.3-506-g8291e1e as received. I will leave it there for now while I check out most functions. All tests were good. I'm not into the microwave frequencies (yet) but it seems to scan there properly. Will eventually update to the latest firmware:??tinySA4_v1.3-563-g1da836e (unless something newer comes along in the meantime).
This was about the fastest shipment I've received from AliExpress and the Zeenko store in all the times I've ordered from them. I'm happy for that and will most likely place more orders from them in the future.

Thanks Erik and everyone involved in the production of these awesome, amazing products. I own two original TinySA 2.8" devices and two original NanoVNA-H4 devices as well. Going to keep them all for now, no intention of selling them any time soon.

Off to experiment and play with all my lovely toys...err test equipment -heh-. (I have set up several antennas, among other things (NVNA-H4), and have used the TSA 2.8" to check receive sensitivity and transmit signals on my ham radio gear.)

Another happy customer!
