Re: Tiny SA shipped
I ordered my TinySA Ultra around November 17th from Zeenco Store through AliExpress and shortly after that received word that it had shipped.
After a few days I checked and it had shipped (Nov. 21, 2022) After checking a few more times it appeared to be on its way back to the seller for some reason. It seems to have arrived back at the sellers on Nov. 26, 2022. No word on why, other than I saw? reference to the battery in the tracking order. Hopefully it will soon be sent my way again.? Anyone have a similar problem?? Bruce,? VE1II |

开云体育There's a man named Robert Einstein at some interesting perspectives on time but not necessarily waiting.? He wasn't the ham but he probably would have enjoyed a tinySA.

Re: #tinysa ultra received

Working on it, it is possible, but not good in practice since it appears that either the LO signal or the input seems to be chopped and? looking at any span smaller than a couple of Mhz that chopping starts to show up in the trace and if you go smaller it becomes unusable.I have not had the time to dig farther into it and isolate the cause. But it works well with larger spans. I do not see this problem on the original tiny. There is no secret to high dynamic range, a) isolate the 1st oscillator signal, I strive for an reverse isolation of >than 80db, so the LO output switched off and permitting 40db+ isolation is a great first step I can do 50db reverse isolation externally and make up the signal loss with low noise amplifiers. Second the external oscillator needs to be low noise so none of the wide band noise generators ...erm pll's that are on the market (I use a HP signal generator as the reference for testing). And 3rd, the signal output of the tracking generator needs to be at ,or as close to 0dbm as possible as a starting point so when normalization is used an absolute minimum of dynamic range is lost. Once the unit is normalized the amplitude of the tracking generator can be reduced to any value desired and the overall dynamic range is then only dependent on the analyzer used. I use this scheme for the original TinySA and my 8ghz R3465. Only I use low noise xtal oscillators for the external source. Like I said, I do it for the fun / challenge of building , my HP VNA and the NanoVNA? are better tools to use than a tracking generator for the Tiny. With the NanoVNA available, there is no practical need for a tracking generator for the TinySA.

Hmmmm. 30+ years ago, when packet was big, I used a very similar approach to saving a TNC configuration, and then restoring it later. Thanks for the reminder!

This is 500Hz AM modulation depth 100%?
And this is 1% depth AM modulation to simulate the ability to see a -45dBc suppressed carrier at 500Hz distance -- For more info on the tinySA go to https://tinysa.org/wiki/

Will the TinySA Ultra allow me to examine SSB modulation?
#specifications
Hi guys,
I'm planning a purchase of the new Tiny SA Ultra and I'm looking at features that are important to me.? As a radio ham, transceiver builder and a proud owner of the original TinySA, I can say that one feature I would have liked in the TinySA is the ability to examine my SSB modulation (see this thread /g/tinysa/topic/74067552#143).? So, I'm encouraged by what I see in the specifications of the new Ultra, with its narrower RBW of 300Hz. My question then is to anyone who has performed these kinds of measurements.? What are your impressions? Does it meet your expectations and are there any caveats to be aware of? Kind Regards. D. |

Re: Cal Function on the ULTRA
开云体育Hi Larry, Yeah, I'm a visual guy, that's the reason for wanting the 'road-map' to the ultra. I'm working on one and it'll take some time as I will be modifying it from time to time to get it right. Also, thanks for the various notes regarding the
ultra. The test 3 failure was a real bone head one, duh, hook up
the cable FIRST, go figure. I am working on that pre-amp one of the guys
suggested using the MMBT5089, wow, is that thing small, first
I'm going to buy one of those microscope do-dads to even see the
leads. Being retired ain't for sissy's, it's hard work. Later, Mike C. Sand Mtn GA

开云体育I talked (email) with someone at R & L last Friday. They said a shipment was coming in this week, but that it was sold out. I think he said the next shipment in was due in like 3 weeks (from last Friday? I don't know!) He thought my order would be fulfilled this week, but I haven't gotten a ship notice so we'll see. :-) Paul On 11/29/22 16:21, Barry wrote:

Yep, got that same ship notice, a nice afternoon surprise. They're already/still showing them out of stock, so hard to say if thats simply, they just haven't updated the online store, or they're still trying to get all backorders filled, and can't even yet do that. |
Re: Restore presets after firmware update?
#feature_request
Another method would be to have a text file with the necessary commands to create and save the PRESETS in TinySA. Just copy it and enter it through the console or the app after the update.?
For instance, the attached file is the one I use to load the presets to monitor the TV channels in my house, also with markers:
- As startup (preset #0) we see all the band occupied.
- In preset #1 there is an analog channel.
- In presets #2, #3 and #4 there are several digital DTT channels.?
I hope it will be useful Toni ? |
