Hi Erik,

That most likely explains how I broke it.

Thanks for the Specifications, they should be required reading for people like myself.

Nice photos. One that stands out immediately is the box. I noticed that (and I am not sure this was mentioned before ¨C sorry if a repeat) the box cover has a decal label and not printed on the box. This might not be true all the time, but it is cheaper to make a decal than to actually print on the box.

New FW release: Output Frequency and Level sliders

New FW release
Version V1.1-72 (promoted after beta testing)

Changes:
- Frequency and Level sliders added in high and low output mode

The behavior is described on this wiki page:?https://tinysa.org/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Main.LOWOUTPUT

Question: Is the current SPAN range OK or should there be a larger minimum SPAN?

Re: Feature to measure 3 frequencies in a mixer. #feature_request

That would imply splitting the range in 3 (or maybe 4) subranges and showing these subranges with the info on the screen.
This would be a major extension of the graphing capabilities and not something I expect to happen.
However, even when using 10MHz, 200MHz and 220MHz all three signals are well visible and you can have a marker on all three and when enabling FAST scanning the total scan time is 240ms so fast enough to tune the mixer

Feature to measure 3 frequencies in a mixer. #feature_request

Feature to measure 3 frequencies in a mixer. I was using a SI5351 and an ADE mixer, I was doing a test generating 200MHz + 220MHz and getting 20MHz. Everything works very well. So think, there may be an interesting feature in a spectrum analyzer. A way to present as 3 frequencies totally out of the standard. Ex: you enter MEASURE and would have the option MIXER, Clicking on MIXER, you should choose 3 frequencies and the analyzer, if possible, would show the 3 frequencies, in the order we entered, and would already add 3 normal markers in each frequency. (20MHz, 200MHz, 220MHz) Of course we can let the analyzer sweep from 1MHz to 250MHz for example, but the idea would be to have the 3 frequencies in a very short SPAN.
This makes it easier to balance the mixture. Is this possible or is it a useless resource?

KKMoon was already listed as a seller of clones.

More clone photos (bought from kkmoon via Amazon December 2020)

Hi,
I have ordered my first tinysa from kkmoon on Amazon some days ago.
I cannot remember if they were already negative customer reviews. If they were there, I did not read them.
at christmas wednesday, the "Spertrum Anayzer" arrived. I started the self-test, like described in the wiki, and test 7,8 and one other failed.
I made some photos and arranged to send the crap back with refund.

regarding kkmoon: I have ordered other electronic parts in the past, never had a problem.?

After receiving my money refund, I will add a fat customer review.

Dennis

Re: My TinySA appears to be bricked. #bug_report

Hi Hugen, thanks for the response!

I have put signals slightly in excess of 20dBm into the low input, I did not realize that would be a problem.

Is there a list of Input limitations somewhere?

If the attenuator is bad, I shall have to get a new TinySA. I do not have the skills anymore to replace components?
that small; I'm 70, with shaky hands and imperfect vision, lol.

The video you included is in a language I don't understand, maybe Portuguese?

You can refer to this video to check whether the attenuator is worn and repaired.

Re: My TinySA appears to be bricked. #bug_report

At least the device does perform the main function I want it to do,
which is to be able to monitor my HF Radio's Output; It may not
be able to accurately measure the Output Level, but it does give some
indication. See attachments.

Both the High Input and Output circuitry seems to be OK, so I can check
my VHF/UHF sets, and generate signals for testing with it.

The only problem is generating signals on the low end. low input
seems to work after a fashion, but it seems the levels are a tad low.

Re: My TinySA appears to be bricked. #bug_report

Hi Gary,

I reset it by powercycling?everytime?I go between trying to measure
an input signal and generating an output signal from the device.

The screen which allows one to set the output signal parameters
does not show unless you select the output mode.

Powercycling?sets it back to low input mode. I checked.

Low output is the opposite of that.

No, I did not.

looks like something in the low input path is destroyed. Not just one component but multiple like two of the band pass filters or a switch and a filter. Did you drop it?

Re: Virus in TinySA-App.exe

The tinySA.exe is the old original pc control program and the tinySA-App.exe is the current app and it is based off of the Nanovna-App. It¡¯s said to be a significant upgrade over the original but I got my TinySA after tinySA-App.exe became the main program.
