Measuring resonant coil outputs
Hi all, I’m new to this group, a physicist by background but also new to using a spectrum analyser. Before I go and actually buy the Aursinc V0.3.1 model, I wanted to ask about how I might go about making measurements relevant to my research so I can be sure this is the best and most affordable approach. To summarise, I am investigating resonance in coils driven at radio frequencies and high voltages and looking at the standing waves that result from certain coil configurations and wire lengths. To make it easier to show what I’m doing, I attach some graphics showing the circuit (without an output load), a typical coil configuration and an example of standing waves that show on a scope using a low-powered setup of 18V to the primary coil. In particular, the queries I have are:
Thank you in advance for any help. ? ?

I wonder if there is a possibility that the firmware is corrupted in some way. Perhaps re-installing the same version of firmware might produce a clue? Just my 2 cents! Sam Reaves

Re: Auto Save Issues
Basically I want to save continuous traces as fast as the TinySA ultra allows until the SD card is filled. With the autosave function the fastest it goes is 1 save every 30 seconds. When I manually press trace to SD I can create a new save about every 3 seconds. My scan time for the desired data is 270 ms.? What settings can be used to make the autosave function run as fast as possible? I am not worried about using up the entire SD card rather quickly. I actually expect this.??
Best to you and thanks,

I did a "clear config" again and was able to set the time and date correctly.
Last time I put a point between the dates and it broke the recording.
?
The remaining errors are the same.

Re: Auto Save Issues
The fastest I have been able to get it to save is in 30 second intervals. Is faster possible? Would this require going into the internals settings? I can manually press save twice faster than 30 seconds, so I know the system has the capability to save data faster than 30 second intervals. Thank you for your response.? |
Re: TinySA ULTRA 4" - No longer works
With nothing connected to the inputs and all default settings (after clear config)? the screen should look in a certain way.
It should be like the first picture on this wiki page
If this is different than please post a photo where I can read the dBm scale numbers as they were very weird

Hi.

Yes, I held the rotary knob on the right side and then started the device until the image appeared on the screen.
I also did it while holding rotary knob on the left side. The situation does not improve.
?
Is there any other test or electronic circuit to measure ?
(I have several Keysight lab measuring instruments)

So keep it pushed to the side until the full display appears.

Hi.
?
> Can you push the jog button to the side (NOT down) and restart the device? This should restore the normal scan display
I did, but it doesn't change the situation.
?

Yes, I took a picture of that too
?
At the moment it seems that the fault is with the hardware, can the hypothesis be tested ?

TinySA ULTRA 4" - No longer works
The device was purchased on 2023.12.10 from the official AliExpress store "Zeenko Store".
I used the device a couple of times during the entire period and was satisfied with the device.
In 2024, I updated the software and everything worked correctly.
?
In other words, the device was in its box for six months and now when I started the device, something happened to the hardware, because almost all the circuits are out of order.
I also did a "Clear Config" and removed the battery from the device for a few hours, but that didn't fix the situation.
?
Additionally, I noticed:
* The device will no longer save changes to the time and date.
* Windows computer no longer connects to device
* "PRESET" - "LOAD FROM SD" - "ERROR NO CARD" (32GB SD card is actually fine)
?
Has anyone else experienced this error and can it still be repaired ?
?
I'm attaching some pictures of the device's condition.
?
Sincerely,
g.

Help ! Calling Ghostbusters.
开云体育Hi. The situation you have is - honestly - a nightmare. With so many clients in a mesh network you mess up a lot of theoretically available bandwidth, so I am not really surprised about your problems. As you already found out, your home theater(?) worked lots better since you changed the smart relay mode and it got worse when many clients in small time window are turned on.? That is the consequence of using WiFi. It is not only the number of MAC addresses. On every power-on every device initiates a long sequence: It enables WiFi, then it searches for available networks, then it starts to connect to this network, then it starts requesting an IP address (if you are running on DHCP). Imagine the amount of network traffic for that! After the device is successfully registered and connected, you still have the situation that lots of traffic moves forward and backwards through the mesh and that all APs have to talk permanently to each other (exchanging mAC addresses and signal quality of every MAC to control handover). So I do not really wonder about your issues, but I am very, very sure this is not caused by something you can solve with a tinySA*. This is mostly the internal function of WiFi, with and without mesh (doesn't really matter with not moving clients). The only way you can get this nightmare under control is installing lots(!) of LAN cables?and install some more APs (using this LAN cables as backbone to the central switch and smarthome controller. I know, you don't want to hear that, but there is no other way. This LAN cables drastically reduce the WiFi traffic, and a LAN cable is also LOTS faster (GBit or even higher) and has a lots lower overhead and latency, this is a huge improvement. But don't do it wrong and install a chain of LAN network switches, you need a star architecture.
This I see as absolutely mandatory. What you try right now has no realistic chance to work properly. You will notice a drastic improvement when doing it this way. Without splitting all this into smaller sections and using high effeicient backbones (Copper) I see no real chance that you can solve your issues. Am Mittwoch, 2.
