Hello Eric,

I only see version on the website.

Typo in the version number in the message?

There are currently no controls that can be used to start/exit drawing mode of a loaded captured screen.
You have jog button left (open previous bitmap) down (exit viewing bitmaps) and right (open next bitmap)
and the same for the touching of the left, middle or right part of the screen
One possibility would be to use the touch only for taking notes on a saved bitmap, SD icon touch to save the updated bitmap while jog button functions remain the same.
Would it be better to exit LOAD back into the file browser instead of falling back to normal scanning screen without menu shown?

Will come in handy making a quick sketch to explain something to a 3rd person.

And I'm sure you don't take your grandchild seriously do you?

Jokes aside scratchpad, if you can save and overlay is very very useful for taking notes etc. If it is not too much work...

New FW release: Bug fixes and DRAWPAD function

Edited

New FW release
Version V1.4187
Ultra only
?
Changes:
- OIP3 data now shown as dBm
- Quasi peak implemented for non zero span scans. MAX HOLD DECAY may be easier to use
- Function added CONFIG/TOUCH/DRAWPAD. This converts the tinySA into a drawing pad for (small) kids. Press jog button to clear. Restart to exit.

Re: Wrong implementation of the quasi peak measurement #bug_report

Thanks for confirming the issue. Are the devs aware of this? Should I notify someone?

Re: TiniSA ULTRA - Signal level incorrect, but selftest - OK

Could be the input switch
You can trace the signal coming from the input through the switch.
If you lose 10dB through the switch it is broken

TiniSA ULTRA - Signal level incorrect, but selftest - OK

Hello!
I have a problem. My tinySa ULTRA can not pass the calibration. It stops at the message - signal level incorrect, check the cable. But it always passes the self-test perfectly. I have read a lot of posts here in search of a solution to my problem.
?
?
?
?In the end I replaced the LNA. But the result is the same as it was.
?
?There is a suspicion on diode D5 on the calibration input. It rings in two directions and has a resistance of 63.5 ohms in two directions. Perhaps the reason is in it, but I can not see the labeling. What is the marking of this diode? And maybe I should replace diode D4 at once? Are they the same?
?
I installed the latest firmware version, but the result is the same. Self-check - ok. Calibration - no.
?
?
Please give advice or recommendations to solve this problem. Thanks!?
?

Re: TinySA Ultra - screen fixings

I got Gel CA glue overlooked somehow. I'll try it out. There is another CA glue that I like and that is one that is like normal non-viscous CA in every aspect except that it never dries by itself unless you apply physical force, then it activates and hardens. It works really well and it also has compounds you can add to it to alter its properties. Has no solvents and will glue anything from plastic, metals, wood, rubber, ABS etc. I hope it is not against the rules to post the name of the brand, since they are only ones making it so you can just google the name to get to the store. Brand name is Pascofix.

I used tiny dots of Gel superglue between the plastic backplate of the LCD display, and the rectangular holes in the existing metal retaining strips, where the clips are located.
?
The amount of glue required is miniscule, and in this instance is only required to stop the screen sliding within the clips, so I judged any risks to be minimal.

Re: Using the built-in OIP3 measurement function via program

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the kind comments and also pointing out the error in the OIP3 unit.
The main intention of my post is to ask for help with automating the OIP3 measurement. I am hoping that there are some ways to: 1. input the fundamental frequencies to the OIP3 function and 2. read the on-screen OIP3 values.

Re: The upper part of the signal goes up when I activate the lna

Does the difference go up with frequency? I wonder if this might be related to the speed of the SA's clock chip??
?
How do you know that the signal power with LNA off is the "real value" and not vice versa? You would need a very precise signal.
?
I also seem to remember Erik once saying the SA's precision was about 2-3dBm...?
