Re: Access traces from the SD card via USB cable
Take a look at this fork,?
?
https://github.com/cxy5014/QtTinySA
?
Apart from some scaling issues (I'm assuming its a retina thing) it works very well, would LOVE a 2D spectual waterful under the trace !

Re: fatal error after firmware upgrade
problem solved, I made very stupid mistake in the upgrade procedure. btw, the reason for the firmware upgrade was a selftest error in step 3. This is fixed by re-calibrating the TinySA-ultra. met vriendelijke groeten, Gerrit (btw2: TinySA is a fantastic tool, must have for all hammers and compliments for the designer Erik and lots of compliments for his after sales support) |
Re: Access traces from the SD card via USB cable
QtTinySA is written in Python and works on Linux, Windows and Mac under python.? I have no mac so cannot build executables for macOS, or test the python code there myself but I am told it works.? I test it primarily on Linux because that's where I use it, but I can also build executables on Windows 11 and do some minimal testing on 11 and sometimes on 10.? It should NOT work on Windows 7 but I have never tried it.
?
There is a wiki on the GitHub repository that describes some necessary python dependencies.
?
I am just an amateur programmer and do it to learn and for fun and because there was no Linux App before.? If @apple would like to send me a nice small mac laptop I will gladly learn how to build macOS executables on it and provide them as well as the Windows ones that I have no use for :-)

Re: Resetting the ultra
Thanks Tate,? I guess your suggestion is referred to the TinySA, not the Ultra version ? Il Mer 24 Lug 2024, 23:15 WyoHam via <wyoham=gmail.com@groups.io> ha scritto:

Re: Access traces from the SD card via USB cable
As far as I know there is no executable for Mac, but as I have read that it is a Pyton programme designed to work with Linux, but it works under Windows and possibly on Mac.
?
Have a look on??
?
I'm not a programmer, but I think that using the libraries and mac repository of the languages used, it would work.

Re: Relating noise figure/noise temperature to displayed power on the tinysaultra
t.hill146@btinternet.com
I've been designing and building radio telescopes, HF, VHF into the microwave, for 30 years. The TinySA Ultra has revolutionised the way I'm working. Instead of bringing the preamps, amps etc to the lab, I can go into the field and check them. By the nature of the way radio astronomers work, this piece of kit is game changing. Thank you. |
Relating noise figure/noise temperature to displayed power on the tinysaultra
t.hill146@btinternet.com
My TinySAultra noise figure came up as 5.7dB. That's a noise temperature, T of around 750K. When displaying up to 800MHz, with 850kHz bandwidth on each point, it displays a noise level of around -90dB for each point. I'm using P =kTB to calculate the power, so P = 1.38E-23 x 750 x 850k which gives 8.8E-15 W or -110dBm. That's exactly 20dBm too small. However, when I switch on the LNA, the noise floor drops to exactly -110dBm. Should not the noise floor without the LNA switched on be -110dBm? |
