Thanks - I meant to put that in - Bill kindly offered to do that back in March so I put a permanent link to it in my

Take a look at this fork,?

https://github.com/cxy5014/QtTinySA
?
This person seems to building DMG's for mac that follow the official releases, I can confirm this works on a M1 running Sonoma 14.5
?
Apart from some scaling issues (I'm assuming its a retina thing) it works very well, would LOVE a 2D spectual waterful under the trace !

Re: fatal error after firmware upgrade

problem solved, I made very stupid mistake in the upgrade procedure.
btw, the reason for the firmware upgrade was a selftest error in step 3.
This is fixed by re-calibrating the TinySA-ultra.
met vriendelijke groeten, Gerrit
(btw2: TinySA is a fantastic tool, must have for all hammers
and compliments for the designer Erik and lots of compliments for his after sales support)

Re: Access traces from the SD card via USB cable

QtTinySA is written in Python and works on Linux, Windows and Mac under python.? I have no mac so cannot build executables for macOS, or test the python code there myself but I am told it works.? I test it primarily on Linux because that's where I use it, but I can also build executables on Windows 11 and do some minimal testing on 11 and sometimes on 10.? It should NOT work on Windows 7 but I have never tried it.
?
There is a wiki on the GitHub repository that describes some necessary python dependencies.
?
I am just an amateur programmer and do it to learn and for fun and because there was no Linux App before.? If @apple would like to send me a nice small mac laptop I will gladly learn how to build macOS executables on it and provide them as well as the Windows ones that I have no use for :-)

Re: Access traces from the SD card via USB cable

As far as I know there is no executable for Mac, but as I have read that it is a Pyton programme designed to work with Linux, but it works under Windows and possibly on Mac.
?
Have a look on??

I'm not a programmer, but I think that using the libraries and mac repository of the languages used, it would work.

I've been designing and building radio telescopes, HF, VHF into the microwave, for 30 years. The TinySA Ultra has revolutionised the way I'm working. Instead of bringing the preamps, amps etc to the lab, I can go into the field and check them. By the nature of the way radio astronomers work, this piece of kit is game changing. Thank you.

Erik. Thank you.?

Re: Relating noise figure/noise temperature to displayed power on the tinysaultra

If you look closely you see at the left of the screen during the measurement of the NF that the lna is enabled.
The value of 5.7 is thus only valid with lna enabled?

Relating noise figure/noise temperature to displayed power on the tinysaultra

t.hill146@btinternet.com

My TinySAultra noise figure came up as 5.7dB. That's a noise temperature, T of around 750K. When displaying up to 800MHz, with 850kHz bandwidth on each point, it displays a noise level of around -90dB for each point. I'm using P =kTB to calculate the power, so P = 1.38E-23 x 750 x 850k which gives 8.8E-15 W or -110dBm. That's exactly 20dBm too small. However, when I switch on the LNA, the noise floor drops to exactly -110dBm. Should not the noise floor without the LNA switched on be -110dBm?

Re: TinySA Ultra "Self Test 10 Stopband Fail" , but then passes.

The only other reason could be a somewhat loose SMA connector

Re: The input impendance of tinysa ultra

I have already sent tinysa back to the seller and confirmed that the input RF switch was damaged
Now I have received it and the test results are correct

Re: Access traces from the SD card via USB cable

You can access images from tinySA ultra SD card with DiSlord mod of Nanovna-app v.1.1.215 and save to disc. This should work for MAC/Linux too.
