Yes, I did check the suggested link.
My first impression was: Yes, this is exactly what I want.
However using a control over Serial Link requires not only a Python script but
some additional SW components:

pillow
pyserial

Well, of course I don't have any of these extra components.
I have no idea where to get them.
And what is "no go" in my case - I don't want to install them.??
So, very sad story but unfortunately this option is not for me.

You are in this group since about 2 years and 4 month.
I am in this group since about 2 years and 9 month.

The tinySA software was steadily improved by Erik in this time.
So, all the basics of a low cost Spectrum Analyser are covered after that time.

By the way Erik gives also a lot of support help in case of questions.

Now special wishes for software additions came up,
and Erik asked for help in this special case.

To shout "All your doing is crying about it and wasting everyone's time."
is very unfair in my opinion.

I just tried again DFU bat file. Now the device is clearly connected in DFU mode.
However DFU Utility still is not happy.

No, I am trying to follow instructions but I am afraid to destroy my current setup.
As I said, my PC runs a lot of design tools which are very sensitive to the environment.
If anything bad happens it will take me few days to fix all this mess.
Thanks to current state of Windows it takes a lot of time to roll back to a previous state.
Plus rolling back not always restores to exact previous state.

Here are the things I found in your latest (and excellent) menu tree. I didn't go over the entire document, but I think I covered all the new functionality that was added. I hope I didn't get too picky. Your work is top-notch - to match the device itself!

So far i am still unable to upgrade a firmware on my new tinySA Ultra device.
This task usually is very simple but in this specific case it is not.
Actually this is very first time during many years I cannot do something
what should be very simple and trivial.
All the suggestions on Wiki and etc. required to collect manually many different
SW components and/or modifications to the sensitive system settings.
I my case this is no go.
My PC is running a lot of different design tools and the setup is very sensitive
to any system modifications and interference with different drivers.
The least what I want - is to destroy my current setup. This will be a disaster.
Unfortunately I don't have any other PC around for different exercising.

So, what is my option(s) to upgrade my device? It must be very safe.
Or I have to forget about upgrading the device?

I hope, finally somebody will provide a very constructive instruction how
to upgrade a firmware on the tinySA Ultra without destroying or compromising
my current PC setup. Ideally, I would like to download a single zipped file
which will contain everything what is needed for this simple tas

However you may find, per my previous message, that installing a PC application is not that important.? You might wait until you receive your TinySA Ultra before you decide.

? ?Since you purchased the TinySA Ultra model you may find that you have little use for a Linux PC application.? You can save data and screenshots to its SanDisk and transfer that data to your Linux PC.? I primarily use TinySA-App for updating my FW instead of using dfu-util (Windows, Linux and Mac). I also use it for sending commands to the TinySA-Ultra but you can do the same thing using a native Linux terminal application.

? TinySA-saver was an early modification of NanoVNA-App by Erik to give both Linux and Windows users a way to save data and capture screenshots.? For the most part, it has been depreciated by TinySA-App which gives you much more control over the tinySA (Ultra) and looks like a true spectrum analyzer application.? If you can get TinySA-App running in Wine, you will have a much better user experience.

I just redid my steps, and took a few notes:

This is on a "Clean reinstalled Debian 11" running in VirtualBox (Vbox)

1: Install git + pip
sudo apt install git python3-pip

2: Get tinysa-saver from Erik's git.
git clone https://github.com/erikkaashoek/tinysa-saver

3: In the file Calibration.py , find all ocurrences of np.complex( , and replace with complex(??
You can use an editor , or the sed command below.

cd tinysa-saver/
cd TinySASaver/

You can skip all the grep commands below , they were just for "proff".

Check for #of occurences (we have 21)
deb11-vb:~/tinysa-saver/TinySASaver$ grep "np.complex(" Calibration.py? | wc
???? 21???? 183??? 1439

*** This is the important comand: Replace all occurences of np.complex( with complex(??? ... In the file Calibration.py

No more np.complex( in the file

But 21 occurences of complex( in the file? .... seems good to me.

And now trying again:

It started


During the process i alsi installed this one (before doing the : sudo apt-get install python3-pyqt5) but it didn't work after that install, and i doubt it's needed to do the below.
sudo apt-get install libxcb-xinerama0
