Delay due to damage
Erik I ordered my first tinysa via?Amazon UK on Sept 12th. The seller is Dexuan. Today I received an email from Dexuan to say that the case was damaged and they have given me two options. Cancel my order. Agree to wait longer for a replacement. I agreed to the latter but do not know the? delivery date as yet. Let us hope this situation is unusual and packaging will be satisfactory in future. 73 from Phil G3SES |

Will the SA firmware run correctly if it doesn't see the display and touch input??The display should not be a problem but you may have to solder some resistors to get the X/Y touch input in the right state (e.g. not touched) Never has been tested |

Probably the primary issue was lack of the 'back' button for exiting the measure menu. ?-Herb |

in your first sentence about keeping it 10 dbm maximum ..is it minus 10 dbm or a normal 10 dbm which is 10 milli watts thanks On Wed, 16 Sep 2020, 16:11 Erik Kaashoek, <erik@...> wrote: On Wed, Sep 16, 2020 at 07:14 AM, Karl Heinz Kremer - K5KHK wrote: |

Maybe as Igor suggested the behavior after exiting the 'measure' menu should be to return to the previous user set-up.This can be implemented but you will also lose any change in setting you did after starting with the measurement so that is not perfect.? The other alternative is to only do a limited deactivation of the measure setup. Which still may be difficult to understand. How do other SA deal with this? |

An "official" reseller is expected to start on amazon, ebay and others, but I have no info yet which store name they will useHi Erik, I thought that was the case, but I didn't want to suggest an 'unofficial' suppler to others who were interested in buying one, as the development team(s) would possibly suffer as a result. Re: Official or Unofficial sellers on Amazon ?
I have a few TinySAs from Maggie's Alibaba store that I can ship USPS Priority Mail. Contact me off-list if you are interested. Erik, ? Igor is correct.? If you accidently select the measure menu there is no way to back out of it without losing your settings.? There should either be a 'back' button (intuitive) or selecting the 'OFF' button should act as a 'back' button (not as intuitive) that sends you up one menu level without loosing your settings. ? I usually store my current set-up in one of the four store locations before using the measure menu so that I can re-load it after a 'measure' operation, since I know exiting the 'measure' menu defaults to start-up settings.? Maybe as Igor suggested the behavior after exiting the 'measure' menu should be to return to the previous user set-up. - Herb |

It lists the maximum input power as 10dBm - anything more and you will likely fry it. For a "good" reading, I try to keep the input signal below -30dBmThis is with 0dB internal attenuation. If you increase attenuation these numbers can go up with the attenuation but do not fry the internal attenuator.? With 30dB attenuation the tinySA will survive a +30dBm signal for a couple of seconds.? With attenuation on automatic you are perfectly safe and you can expect good measurements of you stay below +5dBm But to give the attenuation some spare I suggest to always stay below 0dBm at the input. This will allow you to use the internal attenuation most effective |

thanks for the reply i found on the main site that minus 30 dbm is reasonable is preferrably below ..but it does say for a short period of time 20 dbm will be ok useing the low band of the sa..once again thanks for the info nice little annalyzer for the price.. Bernie, ? A lot of tinySA users have prior familiarity with the NanoVNA which uses the same DFU upgrade procedure.? The DFU mode can only be used for upgrading.? To use the tinySA from a serial terminal you have to exit from the DFU mode and return to normal USB mode.? USB always transfers at the fastest speed rated for the selected port so speed settings in the serial terminal are not applicable. ?To get a list of the available shell commands just type 'help' from the serial terminal. - Herb |
