Is test 12 failing?
If so, you can try to reseat the LCD cable

this problem immediately pops up after testing and remains so., reboot does not help, only reset. calibration goes fine. If you run the test, error 12 comes out, after that this peak remains. until you do clear config

It now goes up to 30,522 and interestingly, it works. I tested it at 24 and it sees a signal, I don't need it any further, but it probably works up to 30. Thanks for the help!

Hi and thanks for the advice.
?
I've tried pausing the screen update on my TinySA Ultra, but that doesn't solve the problem I reported ...

Incorrect spacing between text of options visible on screen

Hi, with the various options visible in the vertical bar on the left of the image below and after recalling a previously saved preset, in my TinySA Ultra with firmware v1.4-196 there is a problem with the spacing of the text of the various onscreen options that causes the date to go under the green icon representing the Sd card, as visible in this screenshot:

?

?

?

This results in the date and time not being readable and, sometimes, when trying to press the green icon representing the Sd card, the screen for changing the date appears instead of saving the current image visible on the screen.

?

The problem sometimes does not occur as visible in the picture below:

?

?

?

I report this here in the hope that the problem can perhaps be resolved with the next firmware update.

?

Bye

Re: New FW release: Reduce spurs for ZS-407

Hi
Question as regards ZS-407
why is it locked, is it? why can't we see how far it can go. we have a record that the first ultra see @20GHz..

"
When you enter the frequency MENU, it says in the lower left corner, choose between 0 and 17.922ghz. And if I enter a number greater than 17.922, it returns me to that number and does not accept a higher number when entering the frequency, so that is its limit.

I do this often with my nanovna-H4, and I haven't had a problem with the images directly appearing.? I just double-click on the image file name in the SD card panel, and it pops up the little window with the screenshot, which I then save or copy.? But I do it when nanovna-app is not actively tracing - so if you have the trace updating, try stopping it while doing the file operations.

DiSlord made the later revisions to nanovna-app, available on his github site:
You probably just need to download the nanovna-app.exe file from that release directory, since the other items haven't changed from prior releases.

QtTinySA (by Ian Jefferson), has the option to view and save the SD_card files on your computer.?
The new version of the program QtTinySA_win.zip is in :

Don't forget to copy the QtTSAprefs.db file to C:/users/your name/AppData/Local/QtTinySA folder.

Re: [Amateur-repairs] Discreet built PLL query HELP please?

Be sure to check the cleanliness of your ultimate 1152 MHz LO.? Remember LO noise will also degrade receive performance in direct proportion to the amplitude of the noise pedestal.? In addition, the width of the multiplied noise pedestal will be multiplied by the SQRT of the multiplication factor, in this cast: by 3.5.? -50 dBc is pretty noisey for a quiet LO.?

I set my signal generator to 1152 MHz and took pictures with both the HP8568 and the TINY SA with identical measurement parameters (you can read those from the images).? See the attached images.

Interesting (especially for Eric) that they both show about -70 dBc to the noise pedestal.? I'm impressed with the TINY SA performance in this respect!?

Virus-free.

Hi and thanks for all your considered replies, they are most appreciated.

It was the fact that the way the operation of the EXOR gate as a phase detector seems to be explained in theory, such that when 'locked' the output pulse should be extremely narrow or non-existent as the system should only need to 'slightly nudge' the filter capacitor to keep it 'topped' up to the desired control voltage.
I was therefore confused to see a 120nS pulse when the system is locked.
I couldn't find any data regarding the input impedance of the VCXO which, if significant, may be discharging the filter capacitor causing the PFD to constantly 'pump' it back up?
Both inputs of my EXOR are driven by digital signals, one from the divided 96MHz and the other from the GPS so both fairly 'fast' square waves.
As far as I can see it doesn't seem to matter if this 120nS pulse exists. The PLL locks securely and to the correct frequency, it was just that I was surprised not to see the EXOR output disappear as the target frequency was achieved.
?
I have looked at the output on the TinyVNA and the noise is >50dB down on the signal, though the 2nd and 3rd harmonics are only 20/30 dB down. I'm not sure if this is due to the buffer amplifier at 96MHz that converts the output to 50 Ohms or a 'dirty' initial signal? Will investigate.....
As I now need to feed this through several multiplier stages up to 1152MHz, it will be interesting to see if these harmonics are suppressed by the time we get to 1152MHz?
?
Thanks for your comments.

Analog detector output in Zero span mode #feature_request

Any chance to have a analog output representing RSSI level in Zero span mode?
And/or level at cursor point on analog output.
Like a RF-detector, just much better since Rx bandwidth can be set and much high sensitivty than typical diode-RF-detectors.
