Re: Put it on a stand!
I like that vise stand - looks like designed for holding PCBs while working on them?? Good dual purpose. -- 73 de Ken H> K9FV

Re: Tiny SA Ultra measuring 30db too high
Looking at the photos of the construction, I think 10w is overly optimistic. Visually, I'd estimate perhaps 3w max for a short period and 1w continuous would be more realistic. The types using SMD

Re: The Amazon Camii-Direct story continues...
The cloners have a significant investment in producing them, they might be cheaper to produce than genuine items but costs mount up when production is in the 1000's. If they don't sell then they take

Re: Tiny SA Ultra measuring 30db too high
Wow. I¡¯ve got one of those exact same 40dB 10W attenuators. It appears to work well and do what it¡¯s supposed to do. However, I¡¯ve been slightly concerned the input/output is not identified so

Who is to say the cloners even have time to focus on this forum and/or even understand, we are dealing with a language barrier here. We aren't talking about an expensive product here were there is a

Re: tinySA freezes when communicating over serial
Thanks for the suggestions! I will look in to the power saving, although it would surprise me if the device was being classified as "idle" since I am reading out data every second. I found a GitHub

Re: Tiny SA Ultra measuring 30db too high
Also for what it's worth, I wouldn't use the CleanRF thing. It's a variable via a potentiometer, and the adjustment is finiky at best. The VK3AMP sampler I mentioned is a much nicer unit for the same

Re: Tiny SA Ultra measuring 30db too high
Well I suppose it doesn't have to be a bidirectional coupler, just a regular coupler should be ok. For HF use I use the VK3AMP -55 dB coupler. It's beautifully constructed and quite flat. You could

Re: Tiny SA Ultra measuring 30db too high
How much power do you intend to use? I have 80db of attenuation between my radio and the ultra and that's to test at 1-5 watts! The ultra is a VERY sensitive instrument

Re: Tiny SA Ultra measuring 30db too high
I agree with all of the suggestions so far; I do need to learn better habits with testing radios sooner than later. My 60db pad was a combination of a 10W 40db attenuator?(from Amazon/China) at the

Most likely your problem is your OS removing power to your ¡°idle¡± USB port. I have had this similar situation in Windows and Linux. It¡¯s all about power conservation. Windows - Settings->Power &

+1 - I have one of these stands for my phone. Time to order a second, for my TinySA if it ever shows up (still sitting in Cincinnati according to USPS). 73 Rick KC3DOO

Re: Tiny SA Ultra measuring 30db too high
Fortunately I have an HP 435B power meter. Every attenuator I buy, I check with that power meter. It has an exactly 0 dBm calibrated output at 50 MHz. I can measure attenuators to within 0.2 dB with
