David,

A little more detail, if you please, 'why aren't you in favor'? Please explain.

I think I missed the 'translation'. ".. once they go past to Free..." Is it not the other way around? Do I understand there is a "fee" to have a 'user-group'?

I'd rather keep it the way it is. Like me a good number of members have the tinysa and intend to get the ultra in the future.
We can read the messages in one group to see updates and information.

Its not possible to create sub groups free of charge

#Ultra Which software to download for Win7Pro? #ultra

I am expecting my "Ultra" to be delivered today from R&L electronics. It was ordered mid November.

I still run Win7pro on my desktop PC and wonder which software should I download for the Ultra?

Also, I have a Samsung 10" Tablet. Is there yet any software available for it to operate the Ultra?

In some groups they use the # sign in the subject to indicate which devices/versions the message is for. #ultra for example. More than a few list members don't understand or use those just as some would post to the wrong group or thread even if there is a different group. We will have to just muddle a long the best we can.

Re: #bug_report #bug_report

Okay so not a bug but a feature ;-)

Levels are in concert with my cheap PM1-8000MHz power meter within 0.1 dB both on the Tiny as on the Ultra.

Thanks Erik

Correct, this is intended behavior as the high output can only provide a small set of output levels so when you enter a number it will jump to the closes available output.
The +/- 1/10 buttons make no sense in this situation so they are not available.

At 868MHz you will need to use the high input for the tinySA which does not have a good input attenuator but only the step attenuator which is ill defined. You will have to calibrate the high input power reading anyway so it is best used with a fixed external attenuator.
The high input (with the use of an external fixed attenuator) is more than capable of accurately measure a 22dB power range
For best accuracy choose the external attenuator such that the input level at the high input is below -30dBm

TinySA for peak value measurement

Hello,
I'm currently working on a project(for academic purposes). I came to know about tinysa and would like to use the same for my project. The goal of the project is to automate the measurement of the peak value(power in dB) for each value of frequency. For example, a frequency of 868 MHz is set via the serial command to the spectrum analyzer and a continuous signal is passed with the help of an evaluation board to the spectrum analyzer (with different levels of Tx power, -12 to 10 dBm). Then, with the help of the corresponding serial command of the analyzer, the power value(peak) of the signal is to be measured.

I would like to know if TinySA will be the best fit for this scenario. If so, I also have a few more queries.
1. Will the accuracy drop for different levels of Tx power(-12 to 10dBm)?
2. Does the input step attenuator affect the accuracy?

Thanks and Regards
Sanjeev

Terraterm works fine on individual self tests and new Ultra firmware has corrected the test 7 condition

Still finding my way through the menus etc. - a great piece of test equipment thanks Erik and team
