Anyone using the Library? #tablesmith

I asked about this three years ago, just wanted to see if anything's changed since then. Is anyone using the "Library" feature in TableSmith? It was always a sort of half-baked idea that never was fully developed.

On a completely unrelated note, I noticed messages on this list (imported from the original Yahoo list) from 20 years ago. And I'm not sure if there weren't messages from before that that didn't get migrated.

As I posted three years ago, I find the Library feature as it currently exists to be unusable. What I normally do is copy from the results window and then paste into a text file or Word document.

I would like some sort of "log" or "history" feature that let me save results more easily - and that kept results from being Erased Forever when the reroll button got clicked. Revamping the Library feature might provide this, but I'd prefer some sort of automatic saving of results.

The two biggest issues that keep me from using the Library are 1. The need to toggle between Library/Generator mode each time you want to save or read something from the library, and 2. The need to type in a new file name each time you want to save something.

Just tried the Library Feature upon seeing this thread.and I have a few usability comments...

I had looked at the Library menu before, but it was all greyed out. I did not realize that there was a Toggle Library menu item under File.? So I had been under the impression that it was a feature that had not been implemented yet. So it might be better to move it to under the Library Menu (and have it not greyed out like the rest of that menu).

Might also be better if you did not HAVE to toggle the Library on to add an item to the Library. The menu item for adding results to the LIrbary (under the Library menu) is greyed out unless you have the library toggled on. IMO, that is something that should be available at all times (perhaps also with a button next to the others when the library is toggled off).

I think that this would make it more useful overall.

If you have images in your Tables, adding the results to the Library breaks the images. The save to library feature ends up showing images as this:
<IMG SRC="Images\weather\cloudy.gif" WIDTH="30" HEIGHT="30" BORDER="0">

WIth HTML, that means that the resulting file is looking for an images folder INSIDE the Library folder. And if you add categories to the Library, it will break them even further.

In the HTML code that was generated for my test, there was this line
<link href="C:\Users\tim\Documents\TableSmith\link.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet">

Now, if you could take the path to the link.css and add it to the path for the images for any images in a resulting HTML file, that should resolve that issue.

I like the idea of a LIbrary, but I do think it could be imrpoved a little.? :)

Hi, sorry for the late reply, but I use the Library to store some stuff I rolled and I told my players in case they ever come back to it.
