Re: Odd error

Vance is talking about the statement in the TS code. If the script says
this:

1,Is 17>=23? {If~17>=23?Yes/No}. Then, Is 17<=23? {If~17<=23?Yes/No}

The result is this:

Is 17>=23? No. Then, Is 17<=23? Yes

The second "If" as originally written says "If 17 is less than or equal to
23, then print 'no', otherwise print 'yes'." Since 17 is less than 23, it's
printing 'no' like it's being told.

Hello,
The table I have been working on has a strange error. This is the
formula
and the output.
1,Is 17>=23? {If~17>=23?Yes/No}. Then, Is 17<=23? {If~17<=23?No/Yes}

Is 17>=23? No. Then, Is 17<=23? No

If I swap the <> I get the result I want, but the logic is wrong.
Other <>
statements work fine elsewhere in the same table. Am I crazy, SOL, or
other?

Hrmm... Files Download Issue

So after getting a new computer and tracking down the password to my email and all sorts of misc time consuming crap... I'm back. Just downloaded all the files again... Now get to go through and relearn how to run Table Smith (Mind you, I learned V.4)... I had an issue with some of the files claiming they don't exist... if they have been removed can someone either replace them or remove them ... I keep going back and clicking on them because I don't have them in my master list... Not a huge issue, Just an annoying one.

I'm going through and getting an accurate up to date list going of all the files I have, and what folder they are in. I don't have all of the files from the group, only because I don't play all of the RPGs we have files for. After I get my set up up and running and running well I may mess with helping expedite the update progress on some of the more pain-in-the-ass style files... minor issues with completion in relation to files... probably a good thing for this group huh? I'm also working on a PDF version of the manual for V5.1 which is the TS I currently have. I couldn't help but notice we don't have one... *nervous twitch* we have to have one *nervous twitch* ... okies, ramble is done... If anyone has any input on how the PDF Manual should be done, please let me know... otherwise it's going be done by a Female gamer who is obsessed with the color pink... teeheehee

Re: NPC Stat Block Pathfinder File Uploaded to the Pathfinder Folder

Nice... Thanks for updating this... I just started poking at it, so as/if I
notice things I'll let you know... (and of course, the first thing I
generate is one of the more complex classes in PF... :/ )

Critical Things
1. Sorcerer HP are wrong... they get a D6 in PF... still showing as D4.
2. Sorcerer doesn't get 'Summon Familiar' as a special quality anymore
unless they take the 'Arcane' bloodline
3. Bloodline isn't shown/selected, so no bloodline features
4. Feats that aren't calculated in (Alertness/Iron Will/etc), should be...
If they're not, that's hosing up your combat numbers and making more work
for the GM (which is the point of this table, to make the GM's life easier,
yes? :D)

Other stuff
1. You should show all the useable untrained skills (or maybe make it an
option to show them?)
2. Add value of items in equipment section.
3. Add location of items in equipment section. (this is useful for when
someone wants to pickpocket, or critical hit/fumbles possibly destroy
something)

I need to dig into this deeper on the numbers, but I know the skill numbers
are correct, So kudos to you there (skills in PF can be a PITA, so my
players inform me. :p)

Character Description
This half-orc is of medium height and muscular (110 lbs.) for her race.
She is an older woman with thin, shoulder-length strawberry blond
hair, and narrow hazel eyes with thin, arching eyebrows. She has a light
complexion, rough skin, and a blocky head with a long face that has a low
forehead and double chins. Her nose is angular and her mouth is large with
thin lips. Her teeth are uneven and her breath is smoky. Her ears are
normally formed, and she has firm, small breasts. Her arms are long, her
legs are muscular, and her fingers are short. She is wearing untidy clothing
and a predatory expression, and walks with clumsy movements. There are no
notable body odors (excluding her breath) emanating from the woman.
She is saintly, boorish and cheerful, and speaks in a squeaky, a
wheezy voice, and is primarily interested in Local History.
She seems of normal sanity, but suffers from Agoraphobia, the fear of
open spaces.

One other item of interest concerning this woman; she is fascinated by
fire.

Personal History
This character spent her formative years in a Human-Dominated Area. She
lives among the Humans. The Human area was a Thorp by the name of
***ERROR on line 5518 of table 'NPC Stat Block Pathfinder' - Group 'Town
Names.Generate' not found. ***

that consisted of 40 people. The small settlement was little more than a
cluster of farmhouses. She was raised in an area considered Temperate Plains
- primarily meadowlands.
Both of her Parents are alive and healthy. Her maternal grandmother is
deceased, as is her paternalgrandfather. She has no siblings, she is an only
child. She has at least 5 other living relatives. She has light and pleasant
relationships with many people but there are few if any, significant ties.

She grew up in a Divided family. One branch of the family was a
Patriarchy, in which the male members controlled the family, while the other
branch was a family that was run by the Elders of the family. The oldest
members controlled the family, although occasionally, they would solicit
input from the rest of the family.
She was raised as part of a Religious Order by the name of The
Institution of
***ERROR On Line 45 Of Table 'Group Namer' - Group 'Town Names.Generate' Not
Found. ***

. While her 'family' didn't have much direct income, it had access to the
necessary resources through its church. As she was growing up, her family
were considered Lower Class. Her family were servants, and she has been
struggling to escape that stigma nearly all of her life.
During the times of her life when it became necessary to defend
themselves, her family were prepared - if necessary - for martial conflict.
Most of her family members were at least minimally versed in the basics of
using clubs, spears, and knives in self-defense and/or the defense of their
home - but that was about all.
Privately, her family would be considered undesirable - to say the
least. They often took actions that could be considered detrimental to the
community - although she, herself, has been, and is still attempting to
'turn over a new leaf' to rectify the situation. Her family's public ethics
could be summed up as undeserved. Clearly, the community has the wrong idea.
Her family's reputation in the community however, is bad. Others treat her
family with contempt, and every member is assumed to be disreputable.
Her family's Religious preferences leaned toward the worship of
***ERROR on line 6023 of table 'NPC Stat Block Pathfinder' - Group
'Religion.PathfinderGods' not found. ***

as their patron Deity for years, but they do not seem to observe their
religious commitments consistently.
Politically, her family would be considered Mixed. One part of her
family supports the current rulers, and other factions are actively working
to remove those rulers.
Her family has an ancestor by the name of Findgon who was a well-known
Cleric of some repute.

Her childhood was otherwise unremarkable. The only thing that might be
considered unusual was the fact that she had became a refuge as the result
of a flash flood that had destroyed her home. Although the event was
traumatic, she could not have been the woman she is now without it.
During the years of her youth, her early life was shaped by the
practice of Healing. She was forced into caring for her recovering brother ,
and she can trace nearly all her skills in those fields to the trials of her
youth as a result of that particular incident.
All in all though, she has been lucky. There have been no Pivotal
Events of any consequence in her life - yet.
Her early education was couched in Book Learning. She learned how to
read and write at an early age, and it has been a major part of her life
ever since. Later, she learned basic local history. Currently, she has been
making a living as a Squire. The job's not that fulfilling, but it helps pay
the bills.
As far as her relationships with her Instructors went, the person who
taught her the most isn't actually in her area of expertise, but that person
was a pivotal influence in her Life.
Sometime in the recent past, she acquired a rival when that person felt
wronged as the result of a business slip-up.

That said, should I fix and re-upload?

Re: New file uploaded to TableSmith

For anyone running Pathfinder campaigns in the Golarion setting. (The main setting for most Pathfinder maps and modules)

I just uploaded a modified version of Robert Reed's (no relation) Calendar generator specifically for the Golarion setting. It is modularized and currently has modules for The Shackles and the Mwangi Expanse regions.
All universal things like calendar dates, moon phases, leap years are calculated from YEAR 1. You never have to worry about setting it manually.
All data for regional things like weather, temperature, winds, sunrise and sunset are supplied by the Modules.
Rob did a great job with the table, but I just can't resist the urge to bend it to my will.
Since my current campaign is in the Inner Sea area, you can expect more modules for the surrounding areas. If you need a module for the area that you campaign in, let me know. Just a little research and an hour later, there's the Module!

Any comments or suggestions welcome.
(and before anyone asks, I'm still working on forcing a page-break in the middle of a <table>.....I WILL find a way!)

NPC Stat Block Pathfinder File Uploaded to the Pathfinder Folder

Hi all,
Just a little note to let you know that I believe I have gotten this table re-written to a point where I feel that I can finally submit it to the Group for general consumption!
It is a derivative of the NPC Stat Block v3_5.tab Table that I originally submitted back in 2005 that has been updated for the Pathfinder Core Rules Role-Playing Game System (*D&D v3.75*)
For those of you who have used the original table before, nothing major has changed, aside from the Pathfinder RPG Compatibility. You can still create a Pathfinder-Compatible NPC, or even a Quick PC after selecting a few parameters¡ or just let the table randomly do all the heavy lifting for you!
This table generates a Random, single class, D&D v3.75; Pathfinder-Compatible; Non-Player Characters (NPCs) or Player Characters (PCs) - complete with personality quirks and basic appearances in standard D&D Stat Block Format. It also randomly determines Paladin Mounts, Animal Companions for Druids and Rangers, and familiars for Wizard and Sorcerer NPCs.
You also have the option to quickly generate a complete GROUP of NPCs that can be used as Bandits, Pirates, Buccaneers, or other similar bands of adventurers that would typically run around together for Nefarious (or even Noble) purposes.
It provides a re-rollable option to make your NPC a Villain - complete with villainous motivations - if desired.
Use this Table to generate quick, complete Pathfinder-Compatible NPCs, Characters, or groups of opponents, for your players - ready to Cut and Paste into any Pathfinder Core Rules Game you may be writing - or as a quick way to actually begin to play a D&D 3.75 Pathfinder-Compatible game - as opposed to spending hours building a new character.
All you have to do is select your initial Gender, Race, Class, and Level Range to get started.
You can also generate completely random Characters (Level 1-20; standard Core Races and/or Classes) if so desired!
The .zip File I've uploaded contains these files ¨C so, if you have updated any of them recently, or any time in the past, be sure that you do not inadvertently overwrite them with this submission.
Download the files to a safe place first, then copy and paste those you actually need into the Table Folders as you need them.
The majority of the other necessary files (from the Other Referenced Tables List; below) are likely in your TableSmith Tables Folder already ¨C I just included the files in the Zipped File in case you need them ¨C to avoid the almost inevitable error messages proclaiming that a specific table cannot be found¡ (I hope I got them all¡)
Particular thanks to Vance ¨C for helping me address the Feats portion of this table for the last couple of weeks, at least¡ I appreciate it!
Otherwise¡ Enjoy!

It's been awhile since I've put together any tsd files, but if I recall I
generally created them in Excel, using formulas to wrap the data in XML
tags, and then copied/pasted into a text file.

I seem to recall someone writing a utility to help create tsd files; you
might want to check this group's File section. Since the tsd files are XML,
you could probably use an XML editor as well, though I haven't done that
myself.

'Course, now you got me thinking about expanding datasets to support
JSON... (for no reason other than I find myself preferring JSON these days
over XML).

I have tables in excel of the magic items that I downloaded from the

customizing the tables, and that there is an assumption that the items are
in order by price; so I'm interested in the possibility that I can add new
data (custom items, new items published) to the excel tables and then sort
on price.

When other TS programmers are creating datasets, how do you create the
.tsd file? Do you have a table, open a txt file and add each entry with c/p
and typing? Do you automate the task somehow? If so, how?

d20PFSRD, and I need to convert them into the .tsd file. (I'm starting
arbitrarily with Magic Rings). I saw a note in the related .tab file about
customizing the tables, and that there is an assumption that the items are
in order by price; so I'm interested in the possibility that I can add new
data (custom items, new items published) to the excel tables and then sort
on price.

When other TS programmers are creating datasets, how do you create the
.tsd file? Do you have a table, open a txt file and add each entry with c/p
and typing? Do you automate the task somehow? If so, how?
