Re: Tablesmith Online Kickstarter

Hi, all. While the Online kickstarter is moving, I'd like to see it moving faster. For those of you that haven't joined, care to say why or let me know what would entice you? You always have a PC and not interested in a browser/mobile version? Not interested in community built tables? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd

I just pledged, and more importantly shared the kickstarter over on the WorldWorksGames.com forum (they have a thread for gaming - related kickstarters).

Good luck.
Thanks for spreading the word!

Re: Tablesmith Online Kickstarter

Yup. I got that. And I'm at the right level. I'm a Tablesmith noob, heard
it talked about for years, am discovering its awesomeness for myself. It
does everything I need it to.

I honestly don't need or want an online version. I'm basically chucking you
guys an extra $30 as a thank-you for fuunctionality I already have. Don't
need or want beta. Don't need or want wall of fame.

Hell, I'm not giving it to you guys. I'm giving it to the concept and the
spirit that surrounds Tablesmith. The open help, the advice.

If I could chuck more, I would. It's a rent month. Roof over head trumps
ultra-cool versatile RPG app (at least, that's what my wife says, and who
am I to doubt her?)

Previous reply is not showing up so I apologize if this ends up as a double post....

I am a longtime lurker here and depend upon a good friend (Hi Vance!) to create tables for my WFRP2 game. I am in on the kickstarter as well.... quick question:

Does the Wall of Fame level get the other rewards?

Cheers!

Tablesmith is going online!

Todd Landrum, the mastermind behind DM's Familiar (
) is putting together an on-line
version of
Tablesmith. The proof of concept is done, and the engine, which is the
same
as what powers the existing Windows desktop version, is in place. This
kickstarter is to help finish some functionality, clean things up, and
get
the application over the finish line.

Besides offering almost of Tablesmith's functionality* on platforms
where
it didn't exist before (Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, etc.), TS Online will
host all its tables in one accessible database, making other's tables
easily available to you and your's easily available to your fellow
users.

The Kickstarter is found here:

Thanks for your support!

Note: This is not affiliated with the recent project one of the list
members posted about; the timing is just serendipitous :) Also, I'll
try
to
answer any questions you might have, but I may have to refer some to
Todd,
since he's in charge of the project.

*: Some functions, mainly interface-based ones like "InputText", aren't
currently available, but will be implemented at a later date.

Re: Odd error

Thanks everyone,
For some reason I was stuck looking at the logic wrong. I guess I just needed a few days without {If~ statements. You guys straightened me out.

Vance is talking about the statement in the TS code. If the script says
this:

1,Is 17>=23? {If~17>=23?Yes/No}. Then, Is 17<=23? {If~17<=23?Yes/No}

The result is this:

Is 17>=23? No. Then, Is 17<=23? Yes

The second "If" as originally written says "If 17 is less than or equal to
23, then print 'no', otherwise print 'yes'." Since 17 is less than 23, it's
printing 'no' like it's being told.

Hello,
The table I have been working on has a strange error. This is the
formula
and the output.
1,Is 17>=23? {If~17>=23?Yes/No}. Then, Is 17<=23? {If~17<=23?No/Yes}

Is 17>=23? No. Then, Is 17<=23? No

If I swap the <> I get the result I want, but the logic is wrong.
Other <>
statements work fine elsewhere in the same table. Am I crazy, SOL, or
other?

Re: Tablesmith Online

Please disregard this message with the recent announcement of the official Tablesmith Online, I will now be calling my project RGScript but the project is on a precipice because I don't know if there is any value in continuing.

It was originally intended as a proof of concept but now that I have seen I can do it, I no longer have the need to keep developing it.

This is not exactly a goodbye just a I don't know what to do with it anymore, so I may come back to it ... eventually.

Re: Tablesmith Online

Ok so I have spent a bit of time working on a website for the development of Tablesmith online with some work on the actual generator having added some further optimizations to the code and non repeating group types(that was tricky).

What I am looking for now is a group of people who are willing to test the website and the generator as thoroughly as they can. I am almost at a point where I can say it is fairly stable but my testing isn't the most thorough and I am sure there will be bugs a plenty.

Before the testing will begin I will have to come up with some sort of survey to make sure that most of the vital systems are responding well and if anybody would like to volunteer to help with that just say the word because extra help is pretty much a necessity to make sure it all works and does it well.

Note:The old link no longer works!
