Re: question about probabilities
so, for *;tablename* *1,thing* *1,other thing* *3,third thing* *1,final thing* The "third thing" would be selected half the time, since it is worth 3 out of 6 total?

Re: question about probabilities
Oh, OK. Tables ("groups" in TableSmith jargon) come in two types with regard to those numbers. If the group starts with a colon : the numbers are sequential, like a die

Re: question about probabilities
That much I understood. I was every entry having a 1 for the probability that is confusing me. I had thought that the numbers had to be sequential. I was looking at one table file earlier and found

Re: question about probabilities
The [Seg][Seg][Seg] entry means "Roll three separate times on table Seg and string the results together." So you might get "bam" the first time, "ag" the second time, and "bub" the third time,

Re: Error message question RESOLVED
I figured it out. I was missing a closing brace on a function. :)

Re: Error message question
Yes, likely missing a culry bracket somewhere. When writing the code for tables it is often better to start with your open and close symbols and then fill them in, so you do not miss them... Note

Re: Anyone using the Library? #tablesmith
As I posted three years ago, I find the Library feature as it currently exists to be unusable. What I normally do is copy from the results window and then paste into a text file or Word document. I

Anyone using the Library? #tablesmith
I asked about this three years ago, just wanted to see if anything's changed since then. Is anyone using the "Library" feature in TableSmith? It was always a sort of half-baked idea that never was

A few thoughts: - Generate multiple days at one time. You can either have the same table do this or have a "parent" table call another one, preserving the value in the parent and passing it as a

how to keep variables from resetting
Ok, so I am giving a whack at coding the weather tables from Harn. And the way that it works is that you have a starting number, and then adjust it up or down each day by a small factor. (one or 2
