MIDI Playback 2
I am creating a song with 5 modules. I created each the same way, however, the fifth module MIDI will not play. Even when I isolate it, it will not play. The channels seem to be arbitrary, this particular module says 0-0. That may have no effect. Any ideas on how to fix this?

TWO QUERIES FROM ONE SCORE 3
Could someone please tell me what I've done here? 1 What is HML in the key signature of the lyrics module? No idea how that got there? 2 What is a beam break (measure 25 of the lyrics module)? With the latter I was trying to match the lyrics correctly to the music as I think I have enough measures here. Simon Davis

Printing two (or more tunes) on one page 8
Is there an easy way in TablEdit to create a page (.pdf) with multiple tunes on it? (Attached is an example from the King Street Sessions Tune Book) Many times, I tab out short songs that take up a half a page or smaller. It would be nice to add a second tune to that page. The only way I've been able to do it is to manually do a screen capture of the tune and paste it into Word or PowerPoint. The problem is the resolution is not as sharp as the original .pdf document. Thank you. Mike

Fiddle Fingering In Tabledit - can it be displayed accurately and with user discretion? 6
I know how to create a fiddle module in Tabledit. I know about the convenient method of using a mandolin module to write the tab and then pasting it into a fiddle module. Here are a few things I can't figure out and don't know if they are doable in Tabledit. 1. If I want to show in the tablature that I'm using my 2nd finger on the E string to slide from F# to G natural, how can I do that? With Key signature set as G Major and tuning as GDAE, how do I get the tablature to show 2nd finger for both the F# and the G natural? It seems that the only way Tabledit will display that F# in the tab is as a 1 and the G natural can only be displayed in tablature as 2L. Indicating fingering as 1 to 2L is not good for this effect because it's not a slide and also because I want to play those as the upper notes of a sliding double stop with my 1st finger playing Bb to B natural on the A string. So, 1 to 2L on the E string in this phrase is not only bad, it's impossible. Similar problem trying to indicate a slide from D to Db on the A string, using the 3rd finger. Seems like it can't be done. Do I have to just settle for wrong, and sometimes impossible, fingering? Maybe another way of asking this question would be: Is there any way to force an alteration in the tablature fingering without changing the note in standard notation? 2. Is there anyway to indicate shifts to positions? For instance, can the tablature indicate I should play A on the E string, but with my 1st finger in 3rd position. What if I need to indicate higher positions. By experimenting I can see that in some cases, if I copy mandolin tab that indicates playing certain notes in higher positions into a fiddle module, it will use parenthesis or brackets which I guess are supposed to indicate positions, although that seems to breakdown above 4th position. And even when it works, I want to choose which position and which fingers are used to play the notes. So, I guess it comes down to the same question as to whether or not you can force an alteration in the fingering without changing the note value? 3. What if I want to indicate and extended fingering? For instance, using my 4th finger in first position to play a C natural on the E string? Once again, maybe all three of these are the same question as to forcing an alteration in the fingering without changing the note value. If any of these are doable, the manual is not helpful and I'm sure other questions will come up. Is there a resource that lays out what other users have already figured out about writing accurate fiddle tab in Tabledit?

Entering more than 6 repeats in MIDI Playing List shows "funny" repeats in tablature 2
Hi- Tabledit v3.04 b4c , win10. I'm not aware of any published limits on the number of "plays" in the playing list, but I think I'm either doing something wrong or I found a "funny". ;) # "Plays" Results 1-6 Normal, Correct "repeats" in tab. 7-8 Repeat count disappears, but double-dots are still present. 9 Square bracketing appears above last measure in repeat group, double-dots still present. 10 Tab display repeat count of "X2". I've attached screenshots (below) of each of the four cases described (above). Sorry if they appear to be jumbled together, its how the list uploader works.

CHORD DIAGRAMS 7
I want to create custom chords for a dulcimer and have them display in the tablature. I managed to do this successfully for CGC mode, but for some reason they are not displaying in DAD mode (see attachments). As far as I can see the settings in both File/Options and Edit/Chord Manager are the same in both files. Can someone help please? Simon Davis

A new way to present chord diagrams with fingerings 6
Hi, While working on old tablatures, I came across this technique which seemed interesting. I immediately implemented it in TablEdit. By default, the fingerings are displayed under the diagram (A). When you type [b] the fingerings are displayed within the diagram (B). When you type [b] again, you get the new presentation where the fingerings are beside the diagram (C). It will be in the next update. Matthieu

v3.05 a1 for Mac 5
Hi, The more curious may have noticed that I've just uploaded v3.05 a1 for Mac. The notable changes are as follows: - the print layout problem on Ventura and later should now be completely and perfectly solved. - the Special Effects dialog box is now modeless - above all, selection cursor management has been completely redesigned: Previously, the cursor was displayed at the same time as the score was redrawn, which meant that the program had to recalculate everything when the cursor had just moved. On a complex score, this made the cursor very sluggish. Now the cursor is drawn on an independent layer with a transparency effect. The disadvantage is that either the cursor color is less vivid, or the background is a little blurred. I'm waiting for your coments. Matthieu

Requires Internet Connection
I cannot run TablEdit unless I am connected to the Internet. I think this is a new issue for me. Two questions 1) Is this the way it is suppose to work? 2) If tablEdit does not require an Internet connection, how do I fix my program. Thanks for your help. t

Barre chord 3
Hi all, I would like to "force" a barre chord position in the chord editor. In the attached example I start by editing a small barre chord. When I enter the C, the D note in the barre disappears (pic 1). When I enter a D#, the D disappears and there is no more barre on the picture (pic 2). Is there a way to fix this and "force" the editor to display a barre chord? Thank -- Pierre

how to open two files next to each other (TE 304 b6c) 13
Hi, In the melodies I want to make in TE many right hand chords are needed. They must be made in 'scale to 1/64 notes' so no overview because of the width it takes from the monitor screen. In 2013 I had the same problem (#1852 · 04/10/13) and there was a function with 'new window'. I cannot find it anywhere anymore. Everything I tried ended with the files integrated in only one TablEdit, under menu Window <2>. Cascade ore the other options don't give enough overview and to and fro with alt tab is so more easy to work with. Making right hand chords is difficult enough so any help I would very much appreciate. I play the diatonic accordion and don't know two open files next to each other is possible for the guitar players? Looking forward to reactions. Musical greetings from Kobie Blom

Adding chord diagrams to a tab using "new" button - only 12 own chord charts possible?
When adding my own chord Diagrams using the new button I can only add 12 chords. When adding a 13th chord it will not work and it adds the chord I added before that. Is there any chance to add more chords? As a bouzouki player I use lots of 2 or 3 finger double runs so I need a lot of chord diagrams.

Tef file not opening correctly 4
I was going through an online tutorial for TablEdit and saved the Red River Valley as a .tef file. It was setup for Standard Guitar. When I went to reopen the file, it comes up as a blank document that is set for Dulcimer. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the instrument setting (module). I haven't found an answer for this, so I figured I'd ask here. Linda

How to write a second voice in a diatonic accordion score
Hello, This second voice will not be played but simply sung. I don't understand how to identify these new notes as a second voice, without affecting the tablature or the lyrics. I've attached the file I'm working on Thank you for your help

Metronome in 6/8 time 6
Running v3.0.4 b6c on MacOS 15.3.1 When I enable the metronome for a tab in 6/8 time, I hear two clicks per measure. This is confusing - why don't I hear one click per beat (i.e., one click per eighth note)? I would expect to hear 6 clicks per measure, or maybe 3 - but not two. Any thoughts?

Rests not showing in Print Preview
Something new happening . I use automatic rests in Display and rests in Tablature under Printing. Recently my rests show up in tablature(as green). The only way to show on Print screen(print preview) is to select the rest individually and hit period. I don't believe I should have to do this since I've made the selection in my menu choice. Any ideas

I am trying to tab out a guitar solo. I can't figure out how to do a bent string 7
Hi, I am trying to tab out a guitar solo with Tabledit. I cannot figure out how to tab out bending the third string at the 10th fret (an F), to a G. I guess it would be G at the 12th fret? Thanks, Dino
