My dear friends. I find it necessary to tell you a liitle more about
me. My name is Miems and I live in a small town called Vryheid in the
beautiful green Kwazulu Natal in South Africa. I am 52 years old and
were all my life in the sewing business. When my husband died after a
marriage of 22 years I was completely lost and my creativity reached
a dead piont. Then after 2 years I met my new husband who also lost
his wife after a marriage of 28 years. He inspired me to take up my
interrest in sewing again. I used to have a sewing school but did not
feel goiing back to that and as I was wondering where to start I
bought my first Deco 600 embroidery machine. Soon after that he
bought me a 3 head Brother Industrial embroidery machine cause I was
lucky enough to get a large contract with a hospital group. Needless
to say after no time I was completely hooked. I started digitizing 6
years ago and open my first website 3 years ago with my daughter
Daleen. The name Hooked On Embroidery came from the music Hooked On
Classics. I used to listen to it when I had to run my industrial
machine 24 hours a day. By now I own all the Hooked On Classics CD's,
and am still crazy about the music. The need grow to give back to
live and that is why I started this group. I know how lonely you can
get and how much you hurt when you lost a child a friend or a
husband. I decide to start a group where we not only share our
knowledge with each other but where we also share our tears and
laughter. To compliment one another on their work and to help those
who wants to learn the art of digitizing.
I promise all of you that I'll do my best for each and every one of
you. You can mail me any time and if I do not have the answer I'll
get it for you. Most of all I want you all to care for one another.
Please friends if someone step on your toes, mail her private or ask
me to help you in resolve the problem. Please do not sent mail to the
group if you are mad and just want to get to someone. If you feel
someone mistreat you please report it to me or my moderaters. Like I
said in my previous mail "LET'S LIVE AND LET LIVE"
Hope you all have a great week. I'm goiing to prepare the promised
lesson and the Friday Freebie. Keep in touch and enjoy each others
company

God Bless

Miems

Thank you so much for writing this letter!? I am new to embroidery and the group.? Lately I have read so much "junk"? with people fighting with each other that I was about to unsubscribe from the group. I have never belonged to a group before and thought that if this is how a group is then I don't want to be in one.? I feel much better after reading your letter.? Please just keep doing what you are doing.? There are people out here like me who appreciate you and your honesty.??? Thank you again.

Thank you Miems. Lovely letter...lovely thoughts. I am a psychologist and hear many problems al day. My hobby and part time job is sewing and embroidering. I think it is a shame to bicker and bite at each other when we could be sharing thoughts and ideas about the thing we all love to do.....embroider. Let's not complicate it....become control freaks.....or get petty.......Life is tooo short.

Hugs to all.

Dear Miems,

Such a wonderful e-mail. My daughter died about 4 years ago and my
son-in-law gave me her machine. It got me back into sewing after 20
years away from it and introduced me to machine embroidery. What a
trip!! It has been and still is such wonderful therapy and, through
the different lists, I have met some wonderful, caring people.
Usually when list-wars break out, I try to ignore it and just skim
over those e-mails (I'm on digest.)

Your designs were some of the earliest that I downloaded. I enjoy
your work, but also your calm, caring personality that comes through
in your e-mails. Thanks for this list and also for sharing so many
of your wonderful designs.

Miems, thank you for your lovely letter (email). We should all try to get along, and if there is a problem, sleep on it, and it will probably be gone with the rising sun.
?
Thank you for the lovely designs, and the freebies.
