Speaking of hospitals in the US I wonder how many people do not have insurance?
I know the price of the insurance alone can cost a fortune. My daughter pays 425 a month Sewing hugs Doreen........... jandor@... Email for pricing Sales of Vilene & Embird .. www.crittersncrafts.com. I ship World wide moderator/list Mom |

I dont have insurance. I dont work a regular full time job since I live
here with dad and take care of him and private insurance is just way too high to even think about being able to afford. It's insane how high insurance is these days. Mark Neat group for buying/selling craft & sewing supplies! |

we don't have any insurance. My DH finally got a semi-permanent position
through a temporary agency so he is working through September. Insurance wasn't offered and there is no way we could buy it on our own. That is why I am in week three of a cold/sinus issue and praying like crazy that the pressure building up in my ear will stop before it bursts. EstherT _____ From: HookedOnEmbroidery@... We don't have medical insurance. My husband is
a Veteran and can go to the VA. We have a small cabinet business and cannot afford insurance right now at my age 58. Last year we both combined took less than $20,000 salary from the business. Pay our employees more but that is what you have to do starting out. Maybe some day .......lol. sue |

afford insurance. I'm trying to live on SS. Can't make it. Thing is; a single person owning a home has all the same expenses as a couple but with only one income. Makes it pretty hard after you work all your life to have a little something and then see how much is given to some that don't even try. Just my 2 cents. Libby in TN We don't have medical insurance. I can tell you who you are paying for! All those people who don't
have insurance that go to the dr for every little thing and never make an attempt to pay the bill and of course those who only go because they are really sick and CAN'T pay the bill.If you go to the dr and don't have insurance the charges are less than if you do have insurance. The drs charge the maximum amount that the insurance company allows for the service he is doing. My neighbors who own a small business have insurance only for a catastrophe. They pay everything else since the insurance is so expensive. When they go to the dr and says yes they have insurance the charges are more than if they say no insurance. $75 for an office w/insurance $58 without. My job for a long time was to process incoming payments at a clinic.I have seen it first hand. If a dr is a subscriber to an insurance company then they have to write off a certain amount set by that company. That is why the max is always charged. If the dr has to write off 10% you can assume that the service is 10% higher than it really costs. So where does that 10% go...you guessed it...recooping the cost for non insured patients. The charges are a result of a panel of drs who decide what that service is worth.Of course they get a big fat salary too so it has to come from someone's pocket. If you aren't sick a lot your best bet on insurance is a high deductible or catastropic coverage.Of course if you have to see the dr for an on going illness then you must have more coverage. Ever wonder how those insurance comapnys afford to build those big skyscraper offices? Pat yourself on the backs...you helped pay for them. I dont have insurance either. Cant afford to get insurance on myself.
I stay home and care for my husband. He has insurance through Social sercuity. But that still doesnt pay for everything. I wish they had a plan where evryone in the us had insurance. Brenda Northern Michigan --- In HookedOnEmbroidery@..., "Scutter" <scutterbear@...> wrote:

we had insurance in our business for quite a while.
my son was going to the doctor and being treated for a prostate infection (so the doctor said). we had to drop the insurance (too high) and 2 months later my son had an emergency appendix operation. the doctor at the hospital said he had this problem over a year. he is still paying on his $12,000 hospital bill. everyone that even walked by the door asked for a piece of the pie. sue |

Everyone in Canada has hospital but we do pay a monthly premium for DR visits etc and we do pay for prescriptions unless we pay for an extended plan and that can be quite high

My daughter had to see an electrical impulse Dr in Vegas after she had a cadaver implant . The 15 minute visit she was billed 2500.00 She raised the roof. They told her most people don't pay the bill anyway. She told she was in practice of paying all her bills so they cut it in half.
The US walk ins in Lake Havasu sock it to the out of country people too . 117.00 per visit and in Idaho the same service was 58.00 Sewing hugs Doreen........... jandor@... Email for pricing Sales of Vilene & Embird .. www.crittersncrafts.com. I ship World wide moderator/list Mom |
Surely can relate!! MY hubby had 2 heart transplants we had insurance Military and we have to pay 25 percent on the first transplant that left us with a bill of a little over 1 million and the second 2 million and they were only 2 years apart of course the meds were most of that. The first time I picked up Meds at the pharmacy they asked me for 6,000.00 I almost fainted!! and that was for one month But we manage now things has change for the better
