G'day
best i can digitise in a month is about 50 designs, about 10,000
stitches each and quite detailed, minus a lot of sleep
Using Auto digitising, i suppose you can do more. Pity we cannot have a
list of sites, that do auto digitising. Just i feel that auto
digitisers are bring down the quality of the designs out there, even if
they are free
Glenn...

Glenn, they are not auto digitized, my husband and I BOTH digitize and they are manually punched. You should check before you post something like that.

Glen,

Really? thats all you can do? for real? wow!

Connie and I both digitize about 16 hours a day 6 days a week, this
is when the kids do their schoolwork, and the farm is in its own good
course. and we put out around 20 designs a day between us.

This is of course, we have GOOD artwork, the computers are both
working good, the emails are down, the members area of the site is
running smoothly, and her mom is not in the hospital.

Here are a few tips, for those just starting out in the field.

Use Embird for digitizing (AWESOME PROGRAM, and CHEAP), AND Buzzedit
for grabbing those "loose threads" that never seem to be their in
Embird, but always show up in the least areas you expect it. ( there
are a very few times a loose thread will wind up going "somewhere",
and Buzzedit is GREAT for those times)

NEVER, EVER use an autodigitizing program if you can stop from it. I
have found from personal expierance that they are more difficult to
use then they are worth. (just my PERSONAL opinion) no, we dont use
them, ALL our designs are manulally punched so they come out right
the first time. Some people do, however, I never did get the hang of
it, nor did Connie, so we decided to leave them aloone, and do it
correctly the first time.

Dont use someone to make a website that is in another country, (they
are NEVER awake when it goes down)go to a GOOD website host for your
site, and get MORE then enough bandwidth because when you hit
3,000,000 + hits a month you will need it. (we average around 3.5
million hits a month now, and use over 150 gigs a month in bandwidth)

Always, always get GOOD pictures, or scans of your work, and make
very sure you put them up in a couple of sizes on your website. be
expecting others to "hit you" when you start to grow, its normal, and
its expensive. learn to just let it go, it will eat you up if you
don't.

And above all, in everything you do, do it good, and do it right the
first time. If you put up bad designs, nobody will come back.

I hope this helps those of you just starting out in the field, when
we started there were very few who would help answer questions. if
anyone wants to know anything else, just email me, I will be glad to
answer your questions. where to get a good webiste made, hosted, how
to get your site up in the search engines, etc.

I think this is rude and uncalled for. How do you know if they are of poor
quaility or that more than one person hasn't been working on these?

Glenn,

I think sometimes you should keep your opinions to yourself!
